3 players tested postive

for Corona virus at Brighton.

So how much of an impact will this have on playing out the season?
With the PL meeting on Monday to discuss the future will this play into the hands of making this season nil and void or ppg?
The fact the 3 players from the same team when self isolating have caught the virus shows how easy it is for people to get it. How many more players from other teams already have it but yet to be tested?

I wonder if all involved, the players, management, coaches etc would have to sign some sort of insurance waiver before a ball is kicked.

I can't see any insurance company covering covid-19 under these circumstances. If they do have to sign a waiver then I expect that's where it will hit home and many could refuse.

What do all the people working now do ?

All football clubs insure their assets, namely their players.Do you really think resuming football during a pandemic would be insurable? if it's not then I assume footballers will be advised and would have to sign a waiver agreeing to it.

Good luck with that

Does it confirm how easy it is to get it though?

It only takes one idiot to put others at risk. Augers recent comment's proved to me that he had next to no real idea what Covid entailed. I've no doubt some are uber cautious and others, like those caught in the papers, are the opposite.

I just watched a huge UFC event last night so athletes can quarantine effectively.

Haven't the fighters been tested 4 times each or something crazy like that?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah they were super vigilant with testing and safety precautions. They pulled a fighter 1 day before the event for testing positive. Event was weird but successful considering the arena was empty.

Same was done for Wrestlemania. Not sure it would work in football, far too many people involved.

Not really the answer to my question. What is happening with German footballers ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some have caught covid-19 a week before they were due to kick off so it could become a farcical situation very quickly.

Seems that policies are astronomical to cover a pandemic.
"No league has insurance against pandemics," Seifert said. "Leagues have insurance to cover canceled matches and some clubs have tried to insure against a pandemic, but the insurance payments would have been impossibly high."

23 fighters were available for last night. 22 had fights.
Event was way longer than a PL match. Each fighter has staff also. Media/medical presence was there.
Scaled down for sure but it was effective, except when you heard someone's fist crash into someone's head cos there wasn't a crowd lol

so 22 is the equivolent of the starting line up for 1 game.

Premier league has 92 games to go,where there is going to be physical contact between all players over the course of a match, perhaps Ozil being an exception. This is compared to 1 man coming into contact with 1 man.

You can't really compare the 2 sports

You're right. But I'm not comparing them in every way. I'm highlighting last night 4-5 hour plus event was way longer than any PL game, had as many staff, and was successful with no crowds.

My other point was it's hard to sympathise when they are being wrapped in cotton wool and no one else is that fortunate.

Same amount of people with same focus on a media/medical presence but it'd be half the time for a PL game. Nail a similar format or one that works for PL and replicate it. Could even have 2 games at each stadium and players wouldn't be in contact.

I don't buy we can't play football cos of possible human contact when lots of jobs face way more of a threat than coming into contact with 11, fit, healthy, quarantined and tested players. Seems like a huge luxury to most really, that's my point.
