I hope that the current situation eases and the remaining games can somehow be completed. If it can't, there are going to be so many arguments, legal challenges etc that could rip the game apart despite the efforts of the various ruling bodies to find a best solution.
I'm not happy with the idea of applying performance stats from the season so far as that doesn't take into account the 'late season charge' or 'great escape' that we see so often. If you look at how many games each team has left to play and applied their stats from the equal number of their last games played not much changes significantly in the league positions.
The one exception is that the two Claret & Blue teams would swap places which would send the Hammers down as their 5 points earned would see Villa jump them.
And all the way down through the leagues the same situation exists for both promotion and relegation.
It's going to be one almighty bunfight or even handbags if Karen Brady gets involved.

There’s going to be arguments whatever the scenario now, I think.
Money will rule over common sense and any combined effort to find a solution.

The greedy pl are already trying to influence things over common sense. Football is really unimportant and should just have the league cancelled. The problem is staff and dependent businesses (pl players get more than enough money to be able to take a hit).

I’ve no problem with it just being suspended for the time being, but yeh, it’s crazy that there’s such a discussion about how it can re-start.
Football is no more important than any other business.

It’s less important really. Christ the peripheral businesses around it are more important than football itself

Common sense move is to scrap the current season once and for all, and get prepared for next season

Just... scrap the season. Football comes back when things get better and safe which includes for players, officials staff and supporters. To even consider a restart without supporters with testing and social distancing is crazy bordering on irresponsible.
This wont be for ages. And all clubs in the pyramid wont be there when it happens.(I expect half to fold).
To think that a restart in the next month or so under the daft proposals mooted shows that some people really don't get what is happening right now. Business or not, it's just a game in the end.

I have better things to do with my money than giving it to those gready b'stards at sky and bt, but with all this talk of the clubs not getting the tv money for the last 3rd of the season does that mean those of you that do pay to watch footie on tv will get a refund?
