Ighalo

So his loan spell at United comes to an end in July, and if this season is ever gonna get restarted again it looks like we’ve probably seen the guy play his last game for us in a United shirt. United seem to be trying to extend the loan a bit longer but his parent club isn’t having it.

It seems the Chinese club want £20m for him if we were to sign him permanently. Should we go for it or would it be too big a risk? Whatever happens, the guy has brought some spark to the side and the players seem to have taken a shining to him. Safe to say he’s defied all expectations too.

B&P, I think Ole is hoping that Martial can develop more of that side of his game because he is a very good finisher.

His club might have a problem having him return to China if the government there don't lift the ban on foreigners entering the country by then. Though the people running the football clubs probably could use their connections in the government and get him to return that way.

It's that can Martial play cf debate again. Under a manager that emphasises quick passing interchange and movement, maybe. Under this regime that had been lacking, so I think we need a traditional cf.

We are still miles of from anywhere getting close to winning the league again. If our fans think we are only 1 or 2 short from competing again then utterly deluded. Maybe 2 max at a push would get in the Liverpool or City first 11. Until that gap getting closer to 5 or 6 Players then top 4 or 5 is the best can hope for. I would say Shaw, Lindelof, Mctominay. Fred, Matic, Mata, Martial all good squad players but no where good enough to be starting week in week out if we want to win the league again.

I don’t think anyone said we’re 1 or 2 short from competing for the league.

But we can’t just buy 6 players and be title challengers again. That won’t work.

The squad will improve and one or two signings will move it along for us to see how things stand in another 9 months.

I think most people are aware we are miles off. But we aren’t going to build a title challenging team over one summer. We need to strike a balance between team development and squad improvement via the transfer market. And a better manager.

Yes from me. He'll be happy to not be guaranteed to start. Look at what Spurs are missing from not having that back up.

You can see what he brings from his introduction against City. Calm on the ball, knows when to release it.

Yes from me, he loves playing for us, brings something different.

IMO, we really should be having a look at Ben Yedder. He's had a good season in France and is a better option than Ighalo if you ask me.
