BROONY!

On this day in 2007 WGS brought a legend to Celtic Park.
Record £4.4m transfer fee for the 3rd player we got from Hibs that window, Heed and Riordan the others.

Rangers fans gloatingly sang to the hibbees how they were gonna take him, but then as now, he made them eat their words.

9 Scottish championship medals
5 Scottish Cup winning medals
6 Scottish League Cups winners medals

55 caps for Scotland.

Captained the club to 8 consecutive championships including 3 successive treble.

Serial Winner!

It's a strange one...half of us wanted rid of him at some point in his Celtic career and most of us have decried him at times. He's not technically gifted and was called 'The crisp poke chaser' by some Rangers fans.

But...his record speaks for itself, on paper he is one of the most successful captains in Celtic's history.

Personally he will never make it into my best Celtic XI, but you have to applaud his tenacity, grit, power, determination and leadership.

Well done Broony and all the best for the future.

he's been here 13 years, and each and every manager sincce his arrival has praised him to high heaven.

his teammates love him, they talk of his influence both on and off the park and he is probably the fittest player in our team

Not the best player technically but his motivation and desire are worth having him in the team for. A midfield of Christie, McGregor, Ntcham might be better in overall ability but would you trust that midfield 3 in an important game? No chance, Broony is the man

Why did he pick Celtic over Rangers?

He terrifies opponents.

Half the time rangers lost the old firm game in the tunnel before it started when broonie just stared them down.
