Worst team to ever win the PL

As harsh as it sounds it’s probably Leicester 15/16. It’s probably the biggest fairytale in sporting history though.

Other than that it has to be United 10/11.

That was such an average squad. Probably the most average we’ve seen under SAF.

VDS, Rio, Vidic and Evra were all in decline. The midfield was shocking and we relied on 37 year old Giggs in there. Our only truly top player was Rooney and he suffered with injuries and form for the majority of the season and that was the beginning of his decline imo.

How SAF won the league with that side I will never like and it really showed how he could get the best out of average players. He had no right to finish ahead of Chelsea that season.

Who would you pick as the worst PL winners?

It wasn’t the greatest league that season but you argue the exact same for this season.

Not really. We're not conceding an insane amount of goals nor look like losing 5+ games in the league.

It's been proven that City's points per game is on track with last season's at this stage of the season.

We have just been on another level. City would be walking the league again if it wasn't for us.

Some of those losses were when the league was wrapped up.

City are nowhere near as good as last season. If they win all their remaining games they end up with 87 points. They won last season with 98 points.

The same City that only lead Leicester by 4 points?

Liverpool have been incredible at getting results but it isn’t a strong league this year. Certainly no stronger than 12/13.

Yeah my bad I actually made a mistake with that stat. I think it's on average over the past 3 or 5 seasons. Can't remember right now.

It shows that the top 6 on average are getting around the same number of points at the same stage of the season over the past few seasons...we've just been next level.

You have been relentless no doubt.

I’m just making the argument that I don’t think the 12/13 team is the worst to win the league.

Won 28 games and probably would have surpassed 30 wins if required.

Had some outstanding performers that like De Gea, Rafael, Carrick and RVP.

Far better than our side in 10/11.

I just offered it up as a suggestion...it could be in the discussion though.

Shouldn’t even be in the discussion though.

Not so sure Carrick and rafael were ‘stand out’, good, but stand out is a bit much. RVP and ddg were on another level thiough

Fair. Both very good and made team of the season if I remember correctly.

Shame Rafael’s career fizzled out so fast. Injuries didn’t help I guess.

Yeah for a while despite being lightweight he looked like he’d do really well, just never really did
