Lost the league on the Sunday though


I went to either Venice or Paris with the school about 3 hours after the final whistle

sat for the first 2 hours of the bus journey crying didnt' speak to anyone

looking back what a few weeks that was for a 14 year old boy, watching your team in a european cup final in Seville then going to Venice or Paris with your mates haha think it was Venice

I'm sure Venice was first year and Paris was second year

think it would've been Paris infact

went up the gallowgate, bar67 it was

got in at half 4, they closed the doors, nobody else in, if you went out you had to rejoin the Q.

absolutely scorching, pint hot in minutes, smoke everywhere and eyes watering.

got p1shed and threw my tricolour specs at the telly when vitor baia started rolling about.

missed my maths higher the next day

Where abouts in Cyprus did you go to watch it Murn?

I was in Akrotiri so at the huge bar on camp. Ended the night at the Triangle in Limassol which was part of a huge Irish bar

Took the day off work for the uefa public sale of 12,000 tickets before the qf. Sat online with a dial up connection till finally got through each page of the process at 11.30 at night when the confirmation page crashed. Phoned the ticket agency the next day - think it was Italian - confirmed !

Was hyper for the 6 or so weeks after boavista win and nervous as fk with Every round before it. Gave 4 to my pals and gifted one to the bus.

6 nights from the Monday in a city centre hotel with a rooftop pool which was ankle deep due to the cargoe lining the bottom of the pool !

A few boys we met crashed our room as folk were sleeping in every street. In ground four hours afore ko and sweltered. Proudest moment following Celtic as the teams ran out and filed either side of the trophy onto the pitch. I remember thinking I just want us to score to see the amazing support celebrate.

Gutted we lost and then won fook all in scotland but still my favourite season following Celtic - easy.
