He’s never been nailed on for England.

.....

No he hasn’t. TOOR in nincompoop mode again.

Wahl was spot on about Liverpool fans in his rant a short while ago.

He’s never been nailed on for England. Injuries don’t help, of course, but let’s not create a narrative where a player that has hardly started for England is England’s best cb. Oh, I forgot he’s a Liverpool player.

I'm not creating anything. Based on ability he is England's best centre back and he'll prove that. He already has for those that watch him every week.

For England he has played at every level, captained the U21s in the Euro's and in one of his first games for England he bossed Neymar and got man of the match. He was in great form for England before his injury and was heading into the last tournament as first choice. He's been unlucky with injuries but let's not create a narrative where a players ability gets marked down due to a couple of bad injuries.

Based on performances and team selections he hasn’t shown it. That’s all that matters when talking about England’s best players. Not who may be something if they aren’t a crock.

Devoid of if Gomez is England's best CB or not, he's absolutely better than Yerry Mina.

He has shown it. He will continue to do so and those who don't know how good he is will do. In the meantime he's just picked up a CL medal and about to pick up a PL medal so he'll have to make do with that, for now.

One good performance against Brazil, in a friendly, nearly three years ago. But yeah he’s shown it for England.

No, not one good performance. He has performed everytime he has started and earned rave reviews. Before his last injury put him out, it was widely accepted he was England's best centre back. It's amazing how quickly people will change their opinion, due to one injury. Anyhow, as world, European and English champion, he will show the trophy dodgers like Maguire, who the real best is.
