Agreed. I will never give consent to be tracked and traced through my personal effects like a mobile phone, unless they put a gun to my head or something like that, which is probably what will happen in the end anyway

For the majority of people whose lives involve going to work, walking the dog, going shopping.... What exactly can get used against them

Mobile phones, bank card usage etc can already build a picture of most peoples movements... All easily accessible records

But this sinister "used against you"... For the vast majority of people, how?

I should be able to search dodgy pon sites without another soul knowing about it. Its my right.

Ever tried to have a w@nk while knowing the door wasn't locked and anyone could walk in at any minute? Its not so easy to finish when you're looking at the door and contemplating how it could swing open at any time.

Privacy means privacy.

How am I supposed to have a glorious w@nk when I'm worried about people who know I am on a pon site?

I don't get all this paranoia, what are you people really afraid of.

Anybody with a smart phone has already shared their entire life with either Google, Apple, Microsoft, Samsung or a combination of all 4.

If you have ever used email you have shared a chunk of your life with your email provider.

What about Internet access, do you think your ISP doesn't have all that information?

There are lots of other far more nefarious groups out there with information you wouldn't like shared, stolen from hacked databases. This information is readily available online if you know where to look.

I have chosen to share certain info with google etc. The idea that I won't have control over what I share is scary. I don't want you to know what strip club is my favourite unless I want you to know and tell you directly. The idea that this info can just be skimmed off you as you go on with your life, without you having control over it is insane IMO.

Google asked me for that info, I agreed and I'm aware they have the info I give them and that's how it should work. I've decided against sharing my info with some other sites. The sense of freedom of choice is what makes life what it is. You take that away and we become robotic.

You ask and I decide.

If a crime has been committed then show me the warrant and here's all my info. I'll even help you to go through it.

Can you trust a government that has shown its not trust worthy and both has and will use any data it gains about you in insidious ways?

I am for a track and trace app, but my lack of trust in this government and their want for a centralise system makes me wary in getting it.

While that might be true (though I wouldn't agree that data at the level this app will collect is readily available) compiling it, cleaning it, matching it up with individuals etc is far from easy. If it's even possible within a reasonable timeframe and workload. Especially for the government, who apparently can't even make an app that works properly. Packaging it up for them and giving them ownership of this data should raise red flags.

If you were really determined you might be able to find my email address, phone number etc from my presence on this forum. That doesn't mean I'm going to leave it in a comment.

What am I afraid of? The government's intentions. They could easily have used a system that doesn't give them control of the data. I do not trust their reasons for wanting it centralised on their servers. I'm scared of them losing highly personal information, or selling it to the highest bidder.

The data in the centralised system's database is all anonymised by design.

Yes, and that's good. But that process is reversible, and far easier when you own all of the data rather than trying to piece it together from various sources.

If only the government hadn’t treated us with such utter contempt over the #CUMGATE fiasco, people might be a bit more willing.

But they’ve blown it.
