To be fair, I get what it’s an attempted joke at but it doesn’t make any sense!

In what way? Several other people understood it.

However, KPMG make clear their figures were compiled five months ago on January 1 and do not include the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has hit every football club. Next year's valuations will take this impact into account.

They've also not included the fact that Liverpool have failed dismally in every cup competition this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or that Man City are a massive 25 points behind Liverpool and still can't win the CL. 👍🏻
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We've got more chance than you this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course, we're out, but that doesn't mean you will win it. 👍🏻
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for explaining that.

Do you think you would have won a PL title by now if VAR had been brought in back in the 90's?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fack off! 🤣

Do you think you'd still be in league 2 if it wasn't for the oil money? I do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Considering we finished 7th in the Premier League just before the takeover I'd say no.

Thanks for asking though, always nice to hear from the #Tainteds.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You have the audacity to call us tainted when you have literally bought every cup in sight and have been banned from Europe for breaches. Better win the CL this season, because you ain't winning it next season. 🤣👍🏻
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You were a 2nd Divison club until the Moores Family bankrolled you - A family who became wealthy by encouraging poor people to gamble.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

and you were a reasonably respected club, despite the history of match fixing and bribery (and that's a matter of recorded legal fact before you try disputing/denying it) before the Saudi's took over, (I can't think what part of your history could possibly have attracted them to you. FPP)
a country/royal family that became wealthy and powerful by encouraging the torture and subjugation of it's residents, and the denial of rights and freedoms to an entire gender.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The City of Liverpool was built on the profits of slavery and human misery.

That is a historical fact.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It still is.

Given the state of this thread from everyone, that doesn’t mean much!

Like I said I got the intent.

19th,
I didn't read every comment on this article, however, basing the description of a "big club" solely on finances is very short sighted. Most fans are focused on club LOYALTY; that is,what has happened in the past, what is currently happening and what the future looks like, NOT on the club's bottom line.

My club's bigger than your club...….this is what football has come to. Playground arguments.

That'd what football is about to be honest, one's club being bigger and better and its also played on a playground

I’m not sure bigger and better go together as such. Perhaps in terms of the football itself, but the fan experience, I’ve had as good a times down the divisions as I have at the bigger teams. I still prefer the championship to the premier league!

Exactly, football isn't, or shouldn't be about being bigger. It should be about what you experience as a fan and supporting your team through whatever - how do you enjoy the good times, no matter how infrequent they may be, without experiencing the not so good times. If all we look for is "bigger and better" then we'll all become "glory seekers" and not football fans.
