Coronavirus: Risk in UK lockdown easing

too soon, warn scientists. Something I agree wholeheartedly with.

Scientific advisers to the government have warned of the risk of lifting the lockdown in England, as sunshine marks the final weekend before rules change.

Professor John Edmunds said it was a "political decision" to ease measures; Sir Jeremy Farrar said the NHS test and trace system should be "fully working".

I cannot help thinking that with hundreds still dying, everything is being rushed back for financial reasons. Sure society has to open up at some stage, but now is far too early in my book, and it seems lots of scientists are in agreement with me. I myself have followed the lockdown rules to the letter, and I will be very annoyed, indeed angry, if after another month or so, we all have to go down into lockdown again, because our Politicians simply could not be bothered to follow the Scientific evidence, as they say they have been doing, for any longer.

From all angles, the Government, football authorities it smacks of being purely for financial reasons, all these restarts, schools, work, football when the death tolls are still so high.

The Government have got practically everything else wrong in the past three months, so why does it not fill me with confidence that they have got this right?

I am extremely worried for the future. I hope I am wrong.

From what I see, ginger is saying that deaths have come down so we can start to look at some normality (reasonable opinion)

Sandy says that the deaths are still high and therefore caution should be applied (reasonable view)

I don't see why either of you are getting so argumentative with each other.

Just accept you both have a valid opinion and move on.

In my opinion the lockdown should of just been for vulnerable people and people who live with vulnerable people and them be giving 100% furlough pay whilst healthy people get on with it.

Along with frontline workers having restrictions on only being able to go to work and having something in place to ensure home delivery for food when needed.

"But either way you can relax and breathe easy and stop being so anxious, by August we won’t have a single death or case in my opinion"
*********************
Hope you're still around in August to see!

40,000 confirmed deaths will be reached by the end of the week. Another 359 deaths today. Shockingly high still.
