So, in an endeavour to avoid relegation, at any cost, representatives of some of the above have come up with the cunning plan of having no relegation this season. They’ve spoken with each other, and has spoken to others in the PL too. How exciting! And they’ve decided that relegation shouldn’t happen.
I’m left with the inevitable impression that retention as claimed within the PL ‘cos it’s more fair, see, has nothing to do with greed, perish the thought. If our club weren’t good enough on the field to escape relegation, and I cannot be alone on this, then our club would - and should - go down. End of.
But if these clubs, one or two in particular, are in such dire straits quality of footballing-wise, they should go down. The cynic in me suspects that in their desperation, some idiot might try and play the Covid card.
I hope I’m wrong.

Imo there will be relegation as the minute one or two of these bottom six get to safety they will break off this stupidity.
The fact is that the fa are the ones calling the shots. They have already ruled out voiding anything and so irrespective of finishing the season or not they will call the results.
No relegation is a self serving selfish act based on nothing more than greed. In 1960s there was snow and a 3 months delay. Nobody bleated and moaned then I guess as they'd be told what's good for them.
There are agreements to be honoured and be it behind closed doors or curtailed 3 of them are going down

This is the reason it’s about money
It’s also about football being a multi billion pound economy that employs thousands throughout the country. It also contributes millions to the exchequer, which itself is currently paying billions to cover 80% of people’s wages.
Chairmen from lower league clubs are saying loads of clubs across the leagues will go under. How many jobs are they across the country? Largely in provincial towns as well.
Like any huge business they have to get started to survive. I don’t see what’s wrong with that. If anything it’d be more acute at PL level because of the huge amounts of money involved, not necessarily down to mismanagement either.
