Outcasts and potential

So we have a handful of players who in my opinion are on the cusp of make it at Celtic or leave having made no impact. Players who signed with decent expectations and haven't hit the ground running or have failed to hit the ground at all. Others are perhaps a long term view rather than now.

Make or break time-
Klimpala, Bayo, Shved,

Future-
Dembele, Frimpong, Henderson, Soro,

Out of the 3 make or break players it was Klimpala I had the highest expectations of followed closely by Shved who was on top form at his old club. According to reports Shved will be given his opportunity. Bayo to me is a donkey and will always be a donkey. Nothing I have seen will change that. He is atypical of a striker signed in the hope he will be good - another Amido Balde.

Klimpala I have no idea what is happening there. I expected him to challenge Griffiths for the second striker place.

As for the future potential, in my opinion, this season is not the one for gambles. I still have Frimpong in there as I think El Hamed is still the number one right back. I don't expect to see much of Dembele unless he is going to make a mark and not just get game time.. Same with Henderson and Soro.

All 3 are up against it as they are challenging players like McGregor, Brown, Christie, Rogic, Ntcham for starting places.

He's worth £10 million for te penalty saves alone.

An on form Lurch is worth 12 to 15 points plus more progress in Europe. If we don’t sign him, it will cost us unless we get an equivalent keeper.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's a brilliant goalie but worth 12-15 points more than who?

Scott Bain (not in Forster's league btw) hardly lost 15 goals when he was in the team never mind 15 points.

As for progress in Europe, forster didnt help much with that last season or in his first spell.

A round beyond the qualifiers is our limit now sadly FF or not.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're being harsh here

Totally agree with heed ,he could be the difference in many a game ...be that in Europe or domestic comp

Would be a fantastic signing

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't disagree with that premise, however, he is not 12-15 points of a difference. That would suggest in 6 or 8 games he makes saves that no other keeper would that stops us conceding and enables us to win rather than draw.

4-6 points I agree especially against better teams but not 12-15 points
----------------------------------------------------------------------
hardly worth signing then

Yes , he's probably worth that

A save can enable any outcome ...it could mean a loss if it goes in ..it could change a game in our favour and allow us to win
It could have a knock on effect as well as the games go on

I wouldn't underestimate a good keepers worth , although pretty impossible to put his value into actual points but it's ALOT....alot more than 4 points ...

Think of his penalty saves alone ..his save against Lazio
He had a ridiculous double save against Hibs I think ...
His contribution in the rangers game
The league cup final
He's superb
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't think anyone is not saying he isn't superb, I reckon he is my favourite Celtic keeper ever after Johnny Gould - I'll explain in a bit which backs up your point...

Anyway Europe yes I agree he is the difference between a draw and a loss or v Rangers he could be all the difference in some games a la the league cup final. I still maintain that our league points would perhaps differ 4-6 points maximum with him. I would much rather have him in goals v Rangers for example same as they would want Goram in when he denied us time and time again.

Ok Johnathan Gould - not everyone's first pick, or even likely top ten picks but the point you made about a save being the turning point IMO he made a save that turned our season around when we stopped the 10.

We had lost the first 2 games as we all remember then we were playing St Johnstone. Boyle had a header that should have gone in at 0-0 but Gould pulled this save out of nowhere. Larsson ended up scoring 2 that day I think. I still maintain that had we not won that day the title race would have been over 3 games in.

O'Boyle not Boyle

In fact Donnelly may have scored one of the goals from the spot I think

George O'Boyle had a nose for goal too. And a nose for a few other things too.

Quite a few of the ja posters now awkwardly looking at their feet.
I assume. I haven't been to a night out, but I imagine it's like the climactic scene of Scarface.

Never forget the sheer anguish on his face when he thought he'd =alised

in the 2-0 game that stopped Rangers winning 10.

OP.

Like all of our institutions and workplaces.

We're going back to a place we don't recognise.

And folk in positions of authority are now flying blind.

Wouldn't like to be pulling the levers in either of the OF at the mo.
