How would you rank the following PL legends?
Ginola
Pires
Beckham
Mahrez
Salah
All among the best wide players the PL has seen. Personally I'd go...
1) Mahrez - Won the Chip with a 5000-1 team, a truly unprecedented feat. Then went on to win a historic domestic quadruple with City, and capped that season with the African Cup of Nations title with Algeria. Tricky, eye for goal, winner's intangibles.
2) Pires - The only player in the history of pro football to assist 2 Golden Goals (vs Paraguay at World Cup 98 & Italy in the Euro 2000 Final). He had grace and flair, and was so good that he won Footballer of the Year in England despite missing a 1/4 of the season in 01/02. An Invincible World European Champion.
3) Beckham - The Face of the Premier League for many years. Despite a lack of speed and trickery, his assist numbers were crazy and his set-pieces were iconic (even has a successful movie titled after him). Apart from Freddie Ljungberg, Beckham is the best underwear model in PL history. Won bucket loads with United & Real.
4) Salah - Set the PL single-season scoring record in 2017/18 with 32 goals. A UCL winner who made his name as a lightning-bolt wide-man for Basle, now turned into the PL's apex winger.
5) Ginola - Talented player, and former PFA Player of the Year. Never hit the heights with France, who went on to Championship prosperity after he and Cantona were exiled from National team duty. Nevertheless, he was Tottenham's talisman in the late-90s.
Over to you...

1. Salah
32 goals in one league season is incredible. More league goals than anyone in the PL since joining despite not being a centre forward.
2. Beckham.
Top top player who is maybe underrated because of his celebrity status.
3. Mahrez
Won the league with an unfancied side. Continued to be quality at City.
4. Pires
Harsh putting him 4th but only because the others are so good.
5. Ginola
Good player but remember him as a bit of a show pony at times.

Beckham is definitely underrated because of his celebrity status.
I think Rooney suffers from something similar.
I had Beckham 2nd initially, but Pires just 'wowed' me more in terms of individual skill from open-play.

You and I are two of the very few who get this. Most of the posters on here look only at stats.
I feel exactly the same about Gigg in his prime. Give me George Best over Ronaldo any day.

I'm only having Beckham at number 1 because his career has finished and therefore has the longevity, but fully expecting Salah to overtake him. Pires could be replaced by Mahrez for the same reason.
