look on the bright side all you werner wann

As I said over a month ago, liverpool are highly unlikely to sign anyone this summer due to the current situation.

However some small crumbs of comfort do exist. Nobody like real or barca want mane or salah. People who thought werner was ironed on certainty due to press chatter can take some solace in this.

We've all heard from klopp and heard from the club via friendly media what the scenario is so it is what it is. My advice is dont stress about what you can't control.

interesting nobody has mentioned or seems to care about the wage deferrals quietly announced or leaked by everton of up to 50%, nor spurs borrowing 175mil to get by. I think we all need to see the impact of corona and why we need to look after the club long term even if it means in the short term the likes of Chelsea and City buy success out of oil money and flouting ffp.

Larouci is training with the first team? like elliot and probably ahead of williams too i think Klopp likes him. Also theres Hoever, so we have 3 youth products at the back in larouci williams n hoever. Not convinced what ive seen of big ginger kid we bought last season. Not sure whats happening with that phillips either hes 23 now.

VVD Matip Gomez, could do with an improvement on Lovren, watched a lot of the game highlights this season, this guy will always be a liability imo. Probably kept to keep Salah happy. Can surely be upgraded on, if Bournemouth go down or Brighton could try get Dunk/Ake on the cheap? Gomez and Matip are yet to prove they can go a season without numerous or long interruptions through injury. Lovrens in there too for this, another reason i wouldnt lose sleep if he left.

Then theres the front 3, still not convinced by Origis starts, Shaqiris either, theyve not been terrible but nowhere near the same levels. If you want to compete on all fronts you have to have that depth like City do or get extremely lucky with injuries and scrape through the first rounds with what you have. We've not been lucky recently, always seem to get prem teams in the early cup games.

Our owners dont really have a leg to stand on, ofc its hurting them but theyve spent fack all for over 2 years now? Our success is being cashed in on, the stadium expansion was such a success that even despite them trying to milk fans for higher ticket prices and failing they were wanting to expand the next part of it You have to ask where all this moneys going?

No doubt clubs will be in for Wilson Grujic Shaqiri etc again too.

Given their actions over ticket prices n the furloughing, despite running us well, how much has been down to Klopp carrying them? they still have huge question marks over their heads for me.

They did back Klopp with the Coutinho money but make no mistake theyre entering 6 years on an average net spend of what must me less than 15m by now. For a club with these success we've had recently they'd have some nerve saying theres no money.

But ultimately Klopps saying they keep looking and the owners back if they find someone they want available, and i agree with him it has to be the right price etc no point changing targets because ones not available no point paying well over your valuation.

So aslong as Klopps happy im happy.

i think your net spend is more a reflection of having great players to sell and ability to sell average players for top dollar. you cant fault the owners for that but if the team is to continue its great run past this year i think they'll have to loosen the purse strings a little.
but who knows maybe you'll sell mane for 200 million pounds.

I've always had this theory that I believe a club always needs to sign a player during the summer transfer window. I think it just gives the squad a fresher look, gives the fans something to talk about and it brings some optimism.

I am under the impression that a factor towards Spurs' decline is not signing anybody for 18 months, or however long it was, which had a detrimental affect on the players and the club because there was no fresh look to the squad. The first team players knew who they were and the squad players knew they'd never get a chance unless an injury happened, so it all just caused things to go a bit sour in the dressing room. Don't want a similar situation to happen to Liverpool, not that I think it would, its just a theory.

in the end if barca didn't lose neymar they would never have gone nuts and made political decisions based on needing to appease fans and they would not have paid 140mil (no I should say fake paid and then stuff us for 37mil or something) for coutinho.

then we may not have bought alisson vvd and keita. we don't get alisson and vvd we are never reaching 2 cl finals are we.

so psg are actually responsible for our improvement.

ki is decent but needs work. all the talent but very much needs that step.

imo larouci, I just cannot see him being a left full. I just don't see the willingness to do the job. we will see. Adam Lewis is better defender but can't see him making it.

I'd have to agree. professional clubs are never the families or whatever the like to talk up. the best it is is a good group who don't accept less than the best.

in the past we were too loyal to some and other got savaged for moving on when they could see things were not good enough (bar sterling who still deserves a friendly boo) bib paisley would say let them age on someone else's pitch.

I would certainly say adding to a squad in time of strength so a player can come through is vital. Ian rush is prime example. its pretty rare you can pull off a keegan to Dalglish transition for example.

the reason ferguson got 20+ years is he mostly was utterly ruthless. imo the one player he couldn't replace and never did was scholes. aside from that player after player were dismissed with a new face with no sentiment. very very few had a bad word after going though. stay and a couple who were not good enough.

so for me its all well and good having a settled side but you can easily go whallop suddenly. when you find they are all needing replacement.

I just hope that we can actually shift a few players like wilson and grujic and at least have a few million if there is a player we have an eye on. if we don't sell we won't buy. that's 100% but even then I could see us just not buy as it could get rough in the next 2 months.

the stock market is going jittery again

"(no I should say fake paid and then stuff us for 37mil or something) for coutinho."

Did they really stuff us though because if I remember correctly, we sold the add-ons for a certain amount which isn't a bad decision if you look at the way his career has panned out since moving to Barca. Those add-ons don't look like they'll ever be met, so I think we made the right move cashing in.

We still received close to £100m for him.
