Ffs.

This bloke has absolutely stolen a living from the club for nine years.

He manages on average 25 appearances a season. That means he misses half a season through injury.

Very few of his injuries are long term ones.

He is the poster boy ( with his face) of the phrase ‘injury prone’.

You have to be impressed here.

I think for his testimonial, we should place stretchers in the stands.

I don’t think Ole is interested in signing such a player. Everything I’ve read, and how he’s managed the team, suggests he wants allrounders in the team not specialists.

On the manager issue, while it’s true, the problem is more to do with the suitability of the manager, rather than changing managers itself being the real core problem.

I don’t disagree with any of that.

The problem, though, is that Pogba isn’t an all-rounder. He’s been asked to be by two different United managers, repeatedly, and *on balance* failed IMO. People will argue that he’s still put the offensive numbers up - and he has - but that says nothing about how the team has performed holistically with him playing in a box-to-box role.

We’ve actually got versatile (if not outstanding) midfield players. McT and Fred are, Garner can be, and even Bruno can be to an extent.

I just don’t see the point in hamstringing Bruno, pulling him out of the areas in which he’s most effective and dangerous off (particularly) the ball, to accommodate Pogba’s shortcomings.

I’d rather see Bruno in the freer, more advanced role in the three with (someone like) McT doing the water-carrying.

Against Spurs I would with McT, Fred and Bruno.

I would be more radical against Spurs.

.......................McT....................

Fred ..............................................Pogba

Bruno..................Rashford........Martial

That isn’t going to happen of course.

I wouldn’t be against seeing those personnel, but using the diamond, with Fred holding, McT box-to-box, and Bruno through the middle of split strikers.

I was toying with it as a diamond but when you watch Bruno he does drift into the middle often enough to make it one.

But you and I have always been on the same page when it comes to hating the 4-2-3-1.

Our 6th choice CB is injured, oh no.
