Good old Vera, the one hit wonder. 103 is a decent age.

Captain Tom was surprised to hear she had passed away so young.

‘We’ll meet again’ was her most known song but I wouldn’t say she was a one hit wonder.

‘They’ll always be an England’
‘The white cliffs of Dover’

Sad news. Vera Lynn was my favourite British singer.
She started at a very young age, and was still singing into her 90's.
"We'll meet again
Don't know where
Don't know when
But we'll meet again
Some Sunny day"

Now then.... there was another girl from Liverpool I think, singing around the same tiime...
"Wish me Luck
As you wave me goodbye
Here I go ,
On my way .."

What was her name?
I've forgotten.

Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye
Cheerio, here I go, on my way
Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye
Not a tear, but a cheer, make it gay
Give me a smile I can keep all the while
In my heart while I’m away
Till we meet once again, you and I
