No Charity Game 2020

Not exactly a huge surprise but there will be no Charity Game this year. We postponed it given the pandemic that hit but seeing as we are not exactly sure what will be happening with our own lives and work over the next few months then we can hardly plan to get a football match on the go.

Once things get back to some form of normality there will be other priorities for us before we can even consider getting this going.

It is a shame as over the past few years we have raised phenomenal amounts of money for great charities. What I will ask you to consider for this year is making a donation to a local foodbank if you are able to spare a pound or two. Foodbank use over the last few years has gone through the roof but now as people are losing their jobs through no fault of their own the use of foodbanks is increasing even more.

If you want a bit more bang for your buck then Giffnock SC are running a Q&A with former Rangers and St Mirren striker Steven Thompson tomorrow tonight at 1930hrs. Tickets are £10 and going towards Pollok Foodbank. Last week's Q&A with Simon Donnelly was good. Tickets are available here bit.ly/GSCSTQA

We will be back stronger next year. The Spanish want their revenge for their humiliation at the hands of the more technically advanced Scots.last year.

Are you still going to put up a fund raising page?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I could still do one for the Children's Hospital - that is the charity that we agreed for the game.

I'll have a look later

Ours always worked better when she was sleeping
Don’t watch English football normally but was at my sons working then dinner he had it in
That was poor last night strange with no crowd
Still at least you know it’s coming would have been harsh otherwise
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's truly awful watching that dirge to be honest.

They should have given the title to Liverpool and had done with it. Nobody will convince me that this is how the football would normally have turned out without this virus. The crowds drive players and motivate teams. That's all gone.

And the attempts to inject a “false” atmosphere make it worse
I’ll not be tuning in again

Watched the Villa games as I want them to stay up (fat chance now )

Boys were all giddy at the thought of non stop football but after Saturday they just can't be bothered.

I watched a yank stream for the 2nd half Brighton v Arsenal on saturday, maybe wrong but swore I heard Glory Glory Man United...

A sign came up saying you could turn it off but as I was stealing the stream.

A great man once said, football without the fans is nothing.
