Leno out for up to 12 months

So it looks like cruciate damage which could see our No.1 out for the next 12 months!!

So now we need a replacement keeper as well.

Could our situation get any worse?

Yeah I saw some talk about Hart on a free transfer but is he still good enough?

He`s only 33, not been playing a lot though, how has he declined so quick

Was never that good and had his peak when there weren't many good gks in the prem. A small decline looked precipitous in that context.

Real issue is we have absolutely zero stability in defense rather than Leno being the strongest keeper in the world (he is very good though).

Just don't see how we improve on results with no set system or fixed personnel at the back due to all these injuries. What a joke

Things could get very bad very quickly from here. We're no too good to go down next year.

Really? He is tied with the best keep in the league with henderson for me.

I watched your game on sat and i thought why did he barge him when getting the ball in the air.

Defence is all over the shop, midfield is shaky.... it's not that I'm that bothered by the european places because I've been saying for a couple of years that I think a year or two without european competition might do us some good but with the team on the state it's in how the hell are we ever going to rebuild whilst attracting decent talent?

Fingers crossed on Leno's eventual diagnosis, but it looked like knee trouble from the way he landed and torqued his foot outwards. Much like what happened to both Welbeck and Chambers.

The path to recovery for knee ligament injuries can be notoriously complicated and difficult to predict. He can now take all the time he wants to recuperate, without any pressure to rush back.

Good thing Leno's still got a few years on his contract.

I can only imagine what would be going through the minds of any of our contract rebels in the event of a long-term injury layoff.

Pepe Reina on the Villa bench. Joe Hart free agent in summer.
The board might afford either of those.
