Wolves

Are a much better side than Leicester.

There I’ve said it

Because it’s true. Better manager, better all round team, a better club vision which is implemented in a better way. No silly managerial decisions, unlike the stupid appointments of Shakespeare and Puel, they stuck with Nuno and have grown year on year - now entering a phase of being european regulars for some years

We on the other hand have wasted the last 3 years on daft managerial decision making, hired Rodgers who started with a bang but couldn’t manage a successful erection right now let alone a football team with hopes of CL football. Has CoVID left him with permanent brain damage or something? WTF was that starting line up all about? He hasn’t got anything tactically right in 4 months

Leicester are a club that peaked at the wrong time this season, a bunch of talented youngsters simply being primed for a move to the big boys. Wolves are the club with the bright future - we’re heading back to 9th having blown the best opportunity of CL football we’ll get in 10 years or more.

Be like Wolves

Kasper is a top class premier league keeper.

World class he is not. Allison and Ederson are the only two in that camp premier league wise.

I’d argue Kasper is ahead of De Gea currently, although I think even my dead nan would be.

What do you mean, behave? Praet's a fine team player but he doesn't have the skillset of Ndidi, Tielemans or Maddison.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You weren’t specific on which centre mids you were talking about in a discussion that was questioning what on earth Mendy was doing in the midfield.

Of course Praet isn’t better than Maddison (who plays in a different position so it’s not even relevant) or Tielemans and we’re hardly questioning Ndidis involvement are we?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ah, apologies. Yes, I'd have him fourth behind those three. We shouldn't be seeing Mendy unless we're already ahead and trying to see out a game. It seems his superpower is killing games stone dead.

Brenda said Kasper Schmeichel is a "world-class goalkeeper" after his penalty save proved pivotal in Leicester's drab Premier League goalless draw against Brighton.
Apparently he's world class because he's saved 2 out of 2 penalties even though he only saved 2 of the previous 23!!
World class
#deludedbrenda.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd say he's below world class but it's normal for managers to give confidence to their players, especially when they've been below par and need a little boost.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think he's trying to find any positive to pick out. There haven't been many so far.

And it was a good save rather than a bad penalty IMO. Maupay hit it hard and kept it low; the only criticism would be that it wasn't bang in the corner but it looked like Schmeichel had reach to spare even if it had been closer.

Leicester are better than Wolves, both in terms of first team and squad depth. Also you play a better brand of football.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Really?

It’s almost impossible to compare the two sides in a season which has been so badly disrupted.
After having no pre-season training Wolves have played a total of 55 games in all competitions and have lost only 12 of them. This is more than any other team in the Premier league despite having the smallest squad in the league.

Leicester have played 46 games and lost 10 of them so nothing much to show there that Leicester are the better side.

If we take a look at a few stats from this season:

Head to head : played 2 drawn 2 (both 0-0) so Leicester not the better team there then

Points gained against the established ‘big six’
Leicester 8
Wolves 13
So Leicester not the best team there then

Top striker (League)
Leicester Jamie Vardy 19
Wolves Raul Jimenez 14
Conclusion: Leicester has the best striker in the league

Top striker (All comps)
Jamie Vardy 19 goals + 6 assists
Raul Jimenez 23 goals + 10 assists
So Leicester not better there then

I know that the above statement is only the opinion of one Liverpool fan and I respect his opinion but I can't really see what he bases that opinion on.

Fans of other clubs are viewing us as we were last year, not this year. Last year we were a different proposition, an energised quick possession based team with a focus on attack.

This year, a much more ponderous, slower, confused proposition with tactics that change week on week and don’t seem to get the best out of the players anymore

Tielemans has been out of form since December, Chilwell until covid lockdown was horrendous, N’didi missing provided us with no cover at all and Vardy hasn’t seen a football for about 4 months

More than anything, we have to get back to pressing teams and trying to force errors. The errors were clearly there and available from Brighton yesterday, but we never really put any pressure on them to make anything of them. I'm sure the formation was designed to allow Maddison and Gray to pop up in areas where they could be effective, but there wasn't anyone in the back 6 who could confidently hit them with a pass in those positions, while any attempting pressing was quickly for nothing because the team had no shape. It looked like a bad selection pre-match and the tactics were needlessly convoluted for a team just trying to get back to grips with the season again.

I just want to see a normal team with players in normal positions against Chelsea, then hopefully we can use that match to get some proper practice in. I've given up on getting any result from it seeing how well Chelsea returned in their first match back.

Yes that's all great but Leicester still have a better first team and squad as well as playing a better brand of football.
