On Saturday Wolves make the short journey to Birmingham to take on local rivals Aston Villa.
After taking 6 points from the last two games against Villa’s fellow strugglers West Ham and Bournemouth, Wolves will be looking for more of the same at Villa Park.
Aston Villa’s three opening games since the league restart have resulted in a 0-0 home draw with Sheffield United, a 1-2 home defeat against Chelsea and a 1-1 away draw against Newcastle.
Currently sitting second bottom in the table with the second worst goal difference and with games still to play against Liverpool, Manchester United, Everton and Arsenal, this game is just one of Dean Smith’s problems. Villa have also conceded a league high of 59 goals.
One advantage that he has is that key player, John McGinn is back from injury but whether that will be enough to tip the balance in the home side’s favour remains to be seen.
Wolves are now on an unbeaten run of 7 games and have kept 6 clean sheets in those 7 games and are the in-form team in the league.
European football beckons for another season. Will it be Europa League or Champions League? That very much depends on the results of Leicester, Chelsea and Manchester United and also the result of the Manchester City appeal but in the meantime Nuno will be drilling his squad to ignore all that and concentrate on one game at a time.
The game will be shown live on BT Sport. Programme starts at 12.15pm.

Bit of a hammer blow that. Looks like sixth spot the most likely outcome which of course will still be a tremendous achievement especially knowing we left so many points on the table.

Over the course of the last two years Liverpool have lost 2 of their last 69 league games and won the Champions League. Must make them one of the very best Club teams we have seen

Do you not think the same thing will happen at Molineux next season when we win it?

Hopefully we'll have all had our jabs and we'll be able to celebrate inside the Stadium come next May. I've no doubt though that in the same scenario there would be plenty out on Waterloo road but Id like to think they'd leave their kids in bed.

I don't think we should knock the supporters, after they have waited 30 years.
However, if they go down with corona virus they will wonder if it was worth it.
