This seems to have gone under the radar

Another person with questionable views have rightly lost their
job today.

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has sacked Rebecca Long-Bailey for sharing an article containing an "anti-Semitic conspiracy theory".

Mrs Long-Bailey retweeted an interview with actor and Labour supporter Maxine Peake.

The shadow education secretary - who was beaten to the party leadership by Sir Keir - later said she had not meant to endorse all aspects of the article.

Who would believe her excuse, let's hope we see the last of her, there is no excuse for what she did.

I also hope Maxine Peake is denied work in the future due to her vile views.

I am surprised in this current climate that certain posters would have been all over this.

Valid criticism of Israel isnt, saying they train the US police is as it’s about perceived control of western states and is a well known anti Semitic trope.

Sacked for tweeting an article from a mainstream media outlet?

Plus don't a lot of law enforcement get krav maga training?

Very clever bit of play from Starmer, this.

Possibly just taken his opportunity or possibly entirely contrived and she’ll be promised a role in government if they win the next election.

It enables Starmer to position the party away from anti semitism, and taking a strong line on an issue that has dogged Labour for years.

With regards to the sacking, people on here need to understand that the article makes specific reference to Israel being the source of the tactic used to kill George Floyd.

Surely not that difficult to see how anti semitism might play a part in somehow blaming Israel for his death.

I think it tells us where the Labour party is at the moment that this story is below the weather in tonights news.

Any Labour mp that gets involved in anything with the slightest hint of anti-Semitism must have rocks for brains. That said I bet Starmer couldn't believe it when the (10 out of 10) Corbyn loving idiot made herself so easy to get rid of.

Apparently the left are livid, Labour just can't help themselves.

Disgraceful from Starmer.

Criticising Israel isn't anti semetic.
