Makes sense.

The other 28 are more important really so breaking down the small teams is the key thing.

Hasn't been a problem since we signed Bruno, and now that Pogba and Rashford are back and on their way to fitness I have no concerns about our ability to unpick lesser sides.

If we can get a quality wide forward - Sancho for example - I think we'll be very competitive.

I'd like one more quality CB too if I was being picky.

a decent right winger and some good physios and we're not a million miles away.

put sancho into wednesday's team instead of greenwood and i think that's the best front 6 in the league.

problem is the depth below that. until greenwood matures our backup striker is ighalo = big drop in quality. ditto also james for rashford, and greenwood for sancho.

we can lose one of bruno/pogba and simply bring in mctominay. lose both and we're back in pereira/lingard territory. the matic of wednesday is good enough, but he's not playing 38 games a season at that level.

we just don't have the squad depth of city, or the injury luck of liverpool, and that's one of the reasons we can go from looking very good to really poor in the space of a few games.

defence isn't perfect, but it's probably ok, we need to add 20-30 goals to our tally, not worry about keeping out 5-10 fewer.

A better defence can help the goal tally go up. We need a bigger contribution from left back going forward and a better partner for Maguire. Somebody with pace so we can play a higher line.

I had high hopes for Tuanzebe but he's proving to be injury prone. Bailly would be my choice until we find a better replacement. Varane has one year left on his contract, maybe he wants a new challenge.....

No gk or striker/centre forward worthy of a top four club.

And been that way for a long time.
