I can name 5 teams that are better than the Liverpool team that won the league, They're not the greatest Premier League team of all-time - https://twitter.com/SkySportsPL/status/1276440312613756931

Never understood why this question is so difficult to answer. Are liverpool they greatest team ever - no, they still have more to win over a sustained period of time.
However if we go on to break the 100 points then there is no question this has been the greatest top flight league season ever recorded by a team. Its there in black and white.

Well, yes, if you only see things in black and white then I suppose it would be.
By the same logic, Liverpool’s league campaign last season was better than United’s in 99, Arsenal’s in 04 and Chelsea’s in 05, because they got more points. Let’s forget the fact that they didn’t actually win the league: it’s points that define greatness.

I'm sure there are teams who even finished third who had more points than that United treble winning team had. Obviously they weren't better though.
Man United did what they needed to to win the league in that era. Back then it was the second highest points total for a 20 team league. It's a different era now where the average points total has increased and you need more points to win. Without City setting the bar of 100 points Liverpool wouldn't have grown and performed so strongly.

We are not the greatest ever but definitely in the top 5.

And yet United have won the double and the CL in that season. Don’t compare points totals.
100+ points for a team shows the paucity of the rest of the league. Plus, United managed a squad for three completions. Winning all three.

If we continue as we have and say drop only 9 or 10 points across the season, how you can argue thats not the best league campaign a teams has ever produced is beyond me. Each to their own though

But the question being discussed isn't about "the best league campaign a team has ever produced". It's about "the greatest title-winners the Premier League has ever seen". They are not quite the same.

Look im not going to get into a back and forth with you on a saturday night. The title is the premier league. So surely the question relates to winners of said title.
I think most people on here (including myself) have already conceded liverpool have a lot more to do to be called the greatest side ever. The fact you cant concede this team are the greatest title winners comes across a bit bitter. Now theres people chiming about the competition being weak, where were they when city racked up 100 points. The league is no weaker or stronger than it was 10 15 years ago. The only difference is the top 2 are not united and chelsea, or united and arsenal. Its us and city.
If we continue as we have theres a list as long as my arm of records we will break. Thats all the evidence anyone should need.
Il let you have the last word though pal. I wont be here. Theres no reasoning or debate with this kind of drivel.
