How Jose can be a success long term

Morning friends,

Thought I'd do an article on how Jose could be successful with us. Although I've not been impressed with our last two performances at least there is a semblance of a plan coming together.

If he could do the below then there's potential for him to succeed, but they basically go against his whole philosophy...

1) Stop camping out in our box when 1-0 up. The United game was a perfect example. First half we were impressive with a genuine threat. But the second half game plan was pathetic and we inevitably conceded.

2) Drop the ego. This nonsense treatment of Ndombele is doing nobody any favours. So reminiscent of Pogba. It will also put him on a collision course with Levy as he will hate seeing his £60m asset depreciate in value

To be honest, that's it. If he can integrate Ndombele and keep us playing at 1-0 whilst progressing us defensively then he could be a success here. I just think these two issues are fundamentally ingrained in Jose.

Juande Ramos was our last decent manager

He took away Hudders ketchup.

It`s unlikely he will get the required backing from the board, so probably not.

It is entirely possible that he’s right on Ndombele.

I’m not a Spurs fan but allow me to offer a non Spurs view of the situation. Jose was brought in to make you winners. Ndombele seems like a ‘Spurs’ player in the sense that he looks all style and no substance. Perhaps Jose has looked at him and seen a guy who doesn’t have the stomach to be what is needed to reach that higher eschelon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Alot of Spurs fans like style above substance. "Poch played great football, wins f all but we love him." That's a classic Spurs fan response. Enter a winner like a Jose and their backs are up. Make me ashamed to support the same club.

very debatable youre a spurs fan anyway tbf

LOL. You would love to see us lose to prove you are right on your Jose stance. During the match threads all you do is spout negativity. You ran like a little female dog when the game was won and you debate if I am a fan?!!! Such a dolly.

Watching football is supposed to be an enjoyable experience unfortunately watching Mou's teams is anything but. I just don't enjoy watching his style of play on the counter attack find it dull. Nothing against Mourinho himself who by all accounts is an interesting person and certainly made an excellent pundit.
I would rather watch a Spurs team playing progressive football than a turgid team winning a league cup, the journey is important.
Credit where its due he has started to improve an appalling defence including improvements in Dier, Aurier and Sanchez. His single minded attitude to dropping the waning Belgian duo is commendable and correct.
Mou would make a fantastic defence coach under a more progressive head coach ala NFL
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Spurs have scored 33 goals in 19 games Jose, which averages out at just under two goals a game, which is pretty good, considering how bad Spurs are supposed to be. Throw in the fact that they have only failed to score in three of those 19 games, and you can see Spurs under Jose are anything but boring.
