From Saturday they will be legal on roads. No doubt they will switching from pavement to road and back again as suits them in the same way as some cyclists do now. Terrifying thought.
No lights, indicators, mirrors, requirement for knowledge of Highway Code or insurance. Not sure if there's even any age or licensing requirements.
I might attach my petrol lawnmower to the front of my zimmer and go for a burn out on Saturday.
E-Scooters. What is this madness?

15 cents a minute, not had a go but people I know that have said they're well worth it!..
Personally I'd be to afraid of having a go, I mean, there's a few out there that want to knock em down!.
But the guy says your not allowed to drink when using them, that'll P some off!.

When people say "Electric is the Future" thinking that it makes a cleaner environment I sometimes wonder where they are coming from.
They plug their little electric conscience relieving go-karts in and then drive them to their shopping and are outraged at the lack of recharging facilities. Try driving from John O'groats to Lands End in one of them.
Many seem unaware that the power that they recharge with is provided by power plants still using those nasty fossil fuels which pollute the atmosphere or nuclear power stations.
Wind farms at sea make sense.
Harnessing tidal power for turbines is brilliant as the power source is there 4 times a day, every day.
So the people who drive E-Cars shouln't be so smug.

Sounds like a good overpopulation solution to me. And from initial appearances, the right type of w@nkers.

Only the ones you hire are legal, owning one and its still illegal to use on the streets, why the difference?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
People who hire and use infrequently are obviously going to be safer than owners who use them regularly. Experience leads to more accidents. This is basic common sense...

They're every where in Cardiff.
I think they're a great way to get around and less carbon etc but I do agree, they should not be allowed on Roads. Should be path only and when there's not enough room to get pass people walking they should get off.
