Morning troops.
So, some good news and bad news yesterday.
Elyounoussi coming on board for another season is a massive signing, he was instrumental in how good we were until November and unfortuantely injury curtailed his season but he still managed to be directly involved in 13 goals in 20 games, that's excellent for a wide man, he's also not a wee boy like Johnston and won't be bullied. Gives us an outball to go long at times too.
However, it would appear a deal for Forster is dead in the water after Southampton demanded £7 million with Forster already wanting around £40,000 a week
With Craig Gordon gone, we're left with Scott Bain so a new keeper must be the prime target.
I feel we're 3 short of where we need to be right now, a keeper, centre half and left back.
With the season 4 weeks away, it's time to get a move on and get everyone settled before end of the month, no flucking about this season.

I think that Taylor should be given a run of 5 or 6 games to prove that he has improved. If he hasn’t then he should be benched. 👍

Benched for whom, if we haven't signed anybody else in the meantime? Kind of a big season coming up, to be relying on Taylor as first choice LB, with Boli as back up ... or vice versa.

It’s more than likely we’ll only have 2 RB’s unless we have someone ready to be signed. Either that or it will be a back 3

True ... that was utter folly though.
Lustig was also a far better player than any of our 3 LB options from last season.
Do we have any young guys coming though at LB? Or maybe we could try the genius Jonny Hayes approach again, and convert Ely to a LB.

I don't get the disdain for Greg Taylor. I like him and I think it is unfair he is being compared to Tierney. We were never going to get a direct replacement and Taylor is a good young LB

Agreed. Taylor has had to up his game and prove to Lenny that he can justify getting a place in the team. He is not perfect but he is getting better.

I've nothing against Taylor, just haven't seen anything much to convince me he's the answer for us as first choice LB. Would be delighted to be proved wrong, but he hasn't really stood out vs Boli or Jonny Hayes ... and they were a fecking low bar! He's pretty wee/lightweight (5'9" according to Wiki ... wearing platforms, aye?!), not particularly rapid, doesn't offer much going forward ... so what ARE his particular attributes? He certainly has time on his side to develop, but he ain't getting any bigger or quicker. If Frimpong is at RB, then we're left seriously lacking in height/physical presence defensively.
