Beating teams on beach mode. They are back

Better than being beaten by a Beach Ball

That was a good comeback

If, and it's a big if, we get Sancho in the summer, I think our forwards and midfield would be as good as yours. I'm still hopeful of Bailly or Tzuanabe coming good and adding pace to the centre of defence.
But it also needs the right mentality. Something Fergie and Klopp did/do so well.

i think united have steadily improved since dumping their horrible manager.
and they might start getting more out of pogba with bruno in there. all around a good shout for top 4 next year.

Their current run of form reminds me of that first half season under Kenny in 10/11.

We had just added Suarez (Fernandes in their case), both have had similar impacts on the results at the back end of the season. Scoring goals for fun against sides mentally already on the beach, we were hopeful this was a sign of things to come in future.

We were then absolute crap the season after that, so interesting to see if history repeats itself.

I think they've definitely improved with Fernandes, but is he a 34 point swing improvement? I'll be more fearful of City and Chelsea next season than I will United.

Take Fernandes, a superb player, play-maker, leader etc., out of that United line up would be taking teensy weensey thingy like the spark plug out of a petrol engine.

One swallow doth not make a summer.

So you’re saying you’ve won an uncompetitive league?

In my opinion:

a) utd have done well to return from the Co-Vid shut down, some have managed it well but many have simply not come back well. Some are in disastrous form and some have done quite well.

b) I think some pundits are very harsh on rashford. I head one making comments during the game yesterday about his touch being off but he had a broken back FFS.

c) Utd have played 4 games since coming back. Sheff utd, who have been awful in every game. Brighton who have been decent but got spanked and norwich who have been awful. They drew with spurs in a back and forth game that really was tough. This doesn't take from what looks like very good form and shape to them, but its not really tested is it?

d) What do Utd have as the "secret" to improvement over where they were at in January? Simple answer to this is Fernandes. Is it enough, who knows. on paper its all lovely but the other hand when you really look at the line up is it really a strong team?

Add up all of these and Its clear utd are in food from right now but not clear what level that is really at. Obviously many people from fans to the media want it to be the case, but this can just lead to crashes later as they found under mourinho

examples:

De gea - mistakes
AWB - highly rated yet has to improve
Lindeloff - decent but up and down.
Maguire - turning circle of a tanker
Shaw - get williams in.
Fred - not good enough, never will be.
Fernandes - world class start, looks brilliant
Pogba - need i say more?
Rashford - only back from injury
Martial - so inconsistent!
James (don't rate him, he treis but he flops about and has no strength) or greenwood (pretty good, very yuong)

There's scope for some players to improve a bit, particularly de gea, AWB, Rashford and greenwood over and above where they are now so utd fans should take confidence from this.

I don't think they can take much from Martial for a while, he could drift off just as easy. Same for pogba.

In the end they look far better right now than they did in january and thats the function of the transfer window. Lets see where they are by the end of the summer window as well before making any conclusions.

I think saying United's forwards (even with Sancho) are equal to Liverpool's is madness. We have possibly the best front 3 in the world (at least as a unit). Sancho isn't as good yet as salah or mane and he would be your best one.

Midfield I'll give you to some extent but ours works perfectly for our system and the trade off with our "workman" midfield is absolute quality from the full backs. So we have Hendo and wij I'm trade off for Robertson and Trent whereas you trade off Shaw and AWB (in other words tripe going forward) for Pogba and Fernandes. Plus fabinho is better than anyone you can put in DM. As a whole team i think we are set up much better as well as having better players on average.

You've certainly improved though and with the financial capability you have you could easily get 4/5 world class players in over the coming seasons and be right up there. But let's not pretend we aren't anything other than miles ahead of you at this precise moment.
