Wigan

Just read now on Sky News that the club has announced its gone into administration.

For a side that was in the PL not too long ago and lifted the FA Cup, very sad news to hear. I'm expecting more well known clubs to announce the same in the coming months.

They has just been taken over 4 weeks ago. Sounds like another dodgy owner that EFL let in without any proper financial check. After Bury and Bolton, also a lot has been going on with Charlton Athletic, EFL once again proves it doesn't fit to run the leagues

Surprised they have lasted this long. Every time I see highlights of their games the ground is not even 50% full.

In 2010, me and a mate went to Wigan to watch them vs Chelsea. Got told at the ticket office that coz we’ve never been before, they couldn’t sell us a ticket?! Went to the pub to watch it and as you said, it was half empty

So they get taken over, currently recording best spell on pitch, then put in administration?

A 12 point reduction drops them to bottom of table, but with their current form they would avoid this drop gap relegation.

Hmmm...Dave Whelan will repeat what he did before with DWSports. Sell at a profit, let others run it into the ground then buy back @ bottom price.

The deduction will only come this season if it is able to relegate them. If they finish 12+ points above the relegation places the deduction will apply at the start of next season.

If it was taken over 4 weeks ago then this is a restructuring strategy. Get the administrators in to help negotiate new debt terms, only pay a percentage on the pound. Take tints hit and then restructure and re
