Let's hope he starts on a regular basis next season anyway.

I am sure he will be a regular part of the rotation next season, Pep never picks the same team 2 games running. He has been competing for a place in easily the best midfield in the PL so he will have learned a lot from them but won't have been given too many starting opportunities until Merlin moves on.

I expected to see him play more this season.

Perhaps the Liverpool steam train meant he felt less comfortable bringing him in.

He's started 13 games this season in all competitions.

Named on the bench in every game in all competitions bar 4 games (one of which he was suspended).

Came on as substitute in 17 games.

Of those 17 games, 6 were games where he came on with 5 minutes or less (not including injury time). The other 11 games he played an average of 17.5 minutes (not including injury time).

In the 30 games (in total) he has played, he's scored 7 goals and had 9 assists.

Compared to the previous season, this season his starting appearances have increased, his substitute appearances have increrased, the number of times he has been on the bench has increased.

However, with the exception of the number of times he's been on the bench, the increase on last season hasn't been by a significant amount.

It had better increase by a significant amount next season. With Silva leaving, I'm optimistic it will be. He's earned his chance at being a first team starter on a regular basis. I hope he REALLY gets his chance next season.

I’m sure he’ll get more minutes than Grealish next season after you spend 50m on him to warm the bench Winston 😜

Given he seems to be playing well from the right as well as centrally he had best get a good shot at it with Silva and Sane gone. We shall see.

He’s got to get past Lingard in the pecking order first.

Yeh, you have to fancy his chances next season and it’s fascinating from an England perspective.
