According to local Barca radio station, Messi is going to leave in 12 months time when his contract runs out. This sort of news has broken out in the past before his concerns were addressed. But this time it seems like the problem is a touch more serious. It depends on the new Barca president in next year election.
He’ll be 34 next summer, and has stated in past he’d go back to Argentina if he were to leave Barca. However he’s still comfortably the best around so it would be a surprise to see him leave Europe.
Hopefully he chooses to come to PL, but City are banned for time being in CL. So other than Utd (Who aren’t likely going to be competitive enough for him), who else in PL can really afford his wages?

I see you have been reading the wolves website as well. I just don't see how he and Ronaldo will get on in the same team, that could be a stumbling block.

If City want him he will go there, with the Pep connection and their money I dont see any other outcome. Its not like he hasnt won the CL.

@barca_official14m Messi to leave Barcelona at the end of the season. Annoyed about jibes that ‘he can’t do it on wet tuesday’ His preferred destination is Stoke City. Wolves also being considered, but Messi feels he’s always be in Steve Bull’s shadow.

He won't come but I'd like to think Arteta is already taking a punt that way and making the offer thinking "Sod it, nothing to lose." We can't pay the earth to meet wage demands but if he hates Ronaldo enough then the prospect of playing in the PL and leading a dire Arsenal to glory, could be appealing (doubtful yes but work with me here). Reason being Ronaldo and his disciples can always throw that PL quip at him. Slams that comprehensively down Ronnie's throat if Messi joins a dire Arsenal (as opposed to the glory days Utd Ronnie joined) and wins the PL title with us.
So everyone pray he really hates Ronaldo, likes Arteta lots, wants a true challenge due to being bored of brilliance, always had a bit of a soft spot for Arsenal and doesn't mind the weather. Personally I say the trickiest one on that list of wishes, is the last one. Forget how unlikely the others may seem, they're ALL more likely than him not minding English weather
