Big Win!

Yep the performance wasn’t fluid, yes we were gifted a goal, but that was a big win this afternoon against a well drilled Palace side we would normally lose against.

What was notable to me is how the confidence started to return after the first goal, and when Barnes finally came on, how much better we started to look in attack again (especially on the counter) towards the end of the game

Is that the blip over? No I don’t think it is. Confidence is still fragile and I still feel that Brendan is struggling with the balance of the team, but frankly it had got to the point where any way of winning would do

Arsenal have picked up and will be tougher, we need 6 points against Bournemouth and Sheffield United in my view and then maybe draws against the other 2 (think we will lose against United) would just about see us through

United are gonna shiiiting themselves at the prospect of facing Choudhury and Mendy

Depends if Choudhury can slam Fernandes in the first 10 minutes, get away with a yellow then be immediately subbed.

*I’m not saying this is an honourable strategy.

In fact, I’d be curious how a Kamark-esque man-marking job from Choudhury on Fernandes might go. 3-4-2, Choudhury in a free role to chase Bruno around literally everywhere he goes.

Hmm. I was expecting someone to pick up on me being supremely optimistic about us still being in a position to challenge United for 3rd when we play our last game!

Interesting thought about having Hamza chasing Fernandes, although I'm not sure about Dunge's idea of us playing with 10 men.

We may need something from the UTD game for 5th?

Nuneaton - That was deliberate. No point including him in a formation is he’s doing a full man marking job.

Well, after tonight’s result I think we’re all confident of challenging for second right.

Right?

That was a great match to watch as a neutral. I hope Southampton are feeling that stubborn when they visit Old Trafford.
