Five games to go, six points ahead and the one team holding all the cards is our old nemesis, Derby. What a run in for the Rams. West Brom away, Brentford at home, Cardiff away, Leeds at home. If they are in the frame by the time they play their last game at Brum, they will deserve to be there. Recent form is excellent, the draw against Forest being their first dropped points since a 3-2 loss to Bristol City in February.
This week's six pointer against West Brom is just the warm-up they need, before Brentford at home. With all the focus on Brentford, Derby's recent form has gone under the radar, but can they keep it going? West Brom had another flaky win against Hull at the weekend while the Rams got a wake-up call against Forest. I think this is the big one for Derby. Win this, and it is all systems go. Lose, and the play-offs looks like a much tougher call. The Baggies have only 2 wins in their last 5 at home. The Rams have won their last 3 on the road. It's a knife edge balanced on a precipice. Rams are without Lawrence and Waghorn, but have the Rams learned from their complacency against Forest?
A draw looks the most likely result, but this one is made for Rooney to make the difference. Very quietly, then, COYR.
COYR???

Derby's run in is easily the most difficult.
They have to be outsiders for the playoffs, however if they manage it I wouldnt want to play them.
Cause if they qualify they will have to take enough points from some very tough games to close that gap to 6th.

The way I see it, the Baggies game is winnable and that would generate enough momentum to get at least a point against Brentford. Lose to the Baggies and Brentford is a much tougher proposition. Win both and you will have an easy game against us, as we should l be home and hosed by then...but we are still Leeds and the fat lady hasn't learned to sing MOT yet. Anything can happen. If we do make it to the Premiership, I will miss the Championship. It is about as pure as football gets.

Think Leeds are home and dry and to be honest well deserved (gagged a bit saying that 😀) will be good o see Bielsa in the prem. as for us very tough run in and of course want us to do it, but if we did, we’d be a very poor premiership team (again) as there will be no time to strengthen. Let Forest go up, they have the ability to take our unwanted points record!!

It's not just because of the fixtures that Derby will struggle to reach the play-offs, but missing players. Lawrence and Waghorn have both stupidly got themselves sent off and Jack Marriott, who Leeds fans might remember, has hardly played all season through injury and is out again having just had surgery. We were already a bit light on strikers so now we only have Chris Martin to try to do it on his own, and good though he is he is one-dimensional. Rooney is no longer capable of doing a job up there. We haven't got a watertight defence or keeper and with Andre Wisdom stabbed we are making do with a midfield squad-player to fill in at centre half. For a single game you might get away with it but with games coming thick and fast against good opposition I can't see it happening.
You never know though. A late Leeds slump, Derby sneak into sixth and Jack Marriott fit for the play-offs......

"But we all know that games are won or lost, not how well you play between the defensive or attacking boxes, but rather what happens inside those boxes.
And that's where Leeds are struggeling."
Loidis, we must be doing something right, at the moment everybody are behind us!..
And goals against, there's only 1 with less than us, and they're the divisions highest scorers!..

That Wicklow rain and the closure of the pubs has clearly gotten to you. Cheering for Leeds is one thing(are you Igor’s love child?), but cheering on the florists? The other two-legged Rams in Wicklow will be out to get you...if there are any

Aren't some of you forgetting Martin has a broken rib? Will he figure in any moe games? Championship or play-offs?

No he hasn't. He said in an interview "I think I might have cracked a rib" but that doesn't mean too much. There hasn't been anything said since. I would expect he will play tonight.
