Too late?

Even if we were to win our remaining league games, is it too late for CL spot? If Leicester lose tonight then they’re just as likely to make it as either Chelsea or Utd imo. Chelsea even if they carry on with their inconsistent form should be enough for them. Utd have caught fire, and definitely the in form team for CL places.

Arsenal losing two games since lockdown was probably too much. Even a loss vs City and a win vs Brighton would’ve given us an outside chance.

Maybe 6th is the best we can get, and with City in semi finals as well, it’s going to be a very difficult finish to the season.

As great as it would be to make CL places, there is clearly a lot of work to be done. Utd with a better goalie and defence will be sure for 3rd spot next season. That leaves Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Leicester for the 4th. Maybe Wolves as well if they are as good next season. That’s a lot of teams to challenge for one spot.

Tonight is going to be a very close game. Without the fans, this game will be very even. Leicester probably have the better players but have a wretched record at the emirates

Don’t think there’s enough games left for us to do it, maybe if there was at least 10 or so games left you could see 2 teams above us lose 3 of them. But don’t think the teams above us are poor enough to drop 8 or 9 points in the remaining games, also can’t see us winning all our games. But if we can get within 3-5 points off 4th then considering how awful we were for most of the season, that wouldn’t be a bad result for us

5th is slightly more realistic, but again can’t see United dropping 6 points and us winning enough to catch them up. Think wolves could drop enough for us to overtake them, that’s about it. Hoping we just push the teams above for as long as possible. Need a really positive end to the season

It’s unlikely and your remaining fixtures arent the easiest. Hoping you can win tonight though.

CL football come on now.

Funny how Wenger used to get criticised for always getting cl footy and now teams mark it as a massive achievement

On a positive note, I believe you are the most recent team to beat City in a domestic cup. Could do it again.

No on both counts.

6th place with plenty of momentum going into next season would be an excellent finish imo, considering how things have looked at various times over the past year.

We're seeing a lot of signs of improvement and it seems like the players are buying into Arteta with a hunger we haven't seen for a long time. All left too late for a CL push but it was always about steadying the ship and preparing for 20/21.

Keep this momentum going and we may even be able to upset City. FA Cup would be a big success considering the teams left in it.

Since it’s now clear we can’t get Champions League, prefer we also miss out on Europa as well so that next season we can fully concentrate on the league and domestic cup games.
