garth's actual player picks are hilariously silly, as kenny says, a defender who scores is always picked, and he never seems to account for the quality of the opposition (Son netting a goal vs norwich will be as valuable as rashford netting one vs city).
What does annoy me about him is his agendas, and the way he will shoehorn them into his article at the expense of actual analysis. So if he chooses pogba he will be contractually obliged to say something like "if only he had stopped spending more time on his hair than his football, we'd all be praising him more" etc.
Just look at his last selection, and how he barely talks at all about sterling as a player, he just (bizarrely) tries to encourage him to leave city:
Just when you think Raheem Sterling can't get any better he comes up with the goals and a performance that says to Real Madrid and Barcelona 'come and get me'. Both former champions of the coveted European title are capable of prizing Sterling away, especially if City don't win the Champions League this season.
If City do win the Champions League, Sterling has an even bigger decision to make. This is no longer about money but glory. The England striker was unplayable against Brighton, demonstrated by a superbly taken hat-trick. With Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi's domination of the Ballon d'Or coming to an end Sterling can, providing he makes the right decision, replace them but he needs a Champions League under his belt. Then it's about trust: is it Pep Guardiola or Zinedine Zidane he trusts with the rest of his future?

At least with Garth you feel like he cares, he’s just completely mental. With Lawro half the time you feel like he’s given up on life.

Getting the names wrong is a Lawro speciality
Anyone remember Leroy Primus?

My ex wife always used to criticise his appearance, his hair, stubble, pot belly, even his clothes
“Tramp” was the word she used to describe him more often than not

Phil McNulty is worse than both.

I remember when James Morrison scored a goal so Garth Crooks felt he had to put him in his team of the week. He then went off on one saying he couldn't believe the guy had never received an England call up.
James Morrison had something like 20+ caps for Scotland at the time...
