Rashford

Well deserved.

Rashford takes immense credit for this IMO. My point would be it's rather sad that it took a footballer to make it happen when it should have been something the UK (English) Government did without pressure.

Okay but that’s why I think your comments are misplaced.

If it were a public honour I’d agree with you.

I don’t think my comments are misplaced. I readily gave Rashford kudos for what he has done, and congratulated him on his doctorate.
I only mentioned others have done the same, and not been recognised for it.

Not once did I mention a public honour either.

I can’t help but think that you believe I have an some sort of motive here, and in case you have, I haven’t. Take that as you will.

Agree to an extent. Believe me, the Welsh Government were under pressure to fo the same. It’s just that it went under the radar.

I can imagine. Not as big a news item though I suppose in Wales. I do get what you're saying with awards and recognition though but I guess it's better for them to hand them to more high profile people. Whether that's right or not is not for me to say really.

Nope, I’m taking your comments as I find them.

Why would you moan that your colleagues haven’t received an honour from a University in a different part of the UK?

It’s a bizarre complaint.

If you don’t feel that institutions in Wales have done enough to celebrate these people’s work then you go ahead and campaign about it.

It has nothing to do with Rashford and this doctorate.

Jesus Winston. I’ve not debated much with you before (if at all actually), but you come across as wanting an argument. I merely made an observation that others have done the exact same thing, and not been recognised for it. I didn’t refer to any University, only the fact that Rashford has been honoured. And that I’m actually pleased for the lad. You read that as some sort of dig towards him. I can’t change how you interpret my comment on a football forum, but neither do I care that much as I know that people will read into it what they like. Show me where I think it’s undeserved for Rashford in any of my comments.
More people should be recognised for the work they for the good of others, don’t you agree?

I’m not saying you think it’s undeserved.

Frankly, if you don’t understand my point from what I’ve said then there’s not really anything else I can add.

Have a nice evening.

I genuinely don’t understand your point to be honest. Maybe it’s crossed wires, or that you don’t understand my point.
No big deal. Have a good evening.
