Reiss-Nelson was excellent

Reiss- Nelson's high energy was so good to see against Liverpool, yes they were defensive errors by Liverpool that led to our goals but they don't happen if he doesn't put the pressure on.

I was disappointed when he came off - goodness knows how Pepe justified staying on instead of him.

We are always a better defensive unit with Holding on the field

Correction, thought I'd seen yellow boots for one of them. Was Nelson also.

He should have featured more this season I think. He's better than Willock. Or at least more decisive and confident on the ball.

I hope we can keep all these young players, AMN is rumoured to be looking to leave - with Arteta saying he doesn't know if he's going to get any money to spend we need to develop them into starters.

We'll definitely keep Nelson. He'll be our third choice winger next season, if you ignore strikers played wide.

I will be totally gutted to see AMN leave. I consider him and have for years. Pound for pound so to speak, the best footballer at AFC. Last better ones we had were Sanchez and Cazorla. I'd see it as foolish for any manager in this league to let someone with a future as bright as his walk out the door.

But in this team as it is, letting him go when you could just give him a solid shot at MF or attack (where he was always meant to be going). Is beyond galactically stupid. Seriously, he's a better footballer than every MF we have and only or two of them is currently a better MF than him as he is now. Bottom line is this squad can't afford to lose ANYBODY who is as good as he is.

AMN, Guen, Torriera, Nelson, Ceballos. Willock
KEEP EM ALL! I'd loan Willock next season though.

Fix the defence so there's a solid, reliable and CONFIDENT back line behind them. And combined with the talent we currently have up front. Well sorry but if Arteta can't make an MF good enough to effectively link the two, out of that group of players. Then he's got absolutely no business calling himself a football manager.

I don't think we'll be keeping Guendouzi, I've given up on that, he has a bad stubborn attitude and he's got form for it, his previous Manager said he had a problem with him too.

I am hopeful that AMN can be persuaded to stay but that is really up to Arteta and what he is prepared to offer him in terms of position and game time.

Yeah sadly I think that ship's sailed too. By the look of it both player and manager are stubborn hotheads. At a time when ammicable cool heads needed to prevail. I can live with it if we secure Partey's signature though.

I don't understand why Arteta doesn't just give AMN the shot he's asked for. He'll know that MF/ATT was always meant to be his playing destiny from his time here as a player. Seems to just be making the point that players can't say where they want to play.

Thing is this particular one can as he's only asking for what's been repeatedly promised (so is very much owed) to him, by this club. Part of me is thinking Arteta will fix that one though because I just think he cannot be that foolish and short-sighted. AMN is no Guen in behaviour terms, so having bought Soares, with Bellerin fit again. There's no good cause to be refusing the kid his wish. Not when we're literally DESPERATE for an MF who can play football as wel as he can

I've been saying for 3 years Nelson could well be the best of the current bunch of youngsters. He has huge potential!!

Why are you calling him Reiss-Nelson. His first name is Reiss and his surname is Nelson, there is no hyphen?

Personally I would like to see him do it more than just one game against a team that have cearly switched off as they are now only playing for stats.

It's good to see our players prepared to run their socks off and chase lost causes up front to regain possession. Especially coming after several years of passively waiting for the ball to come back into our possession.

The word is officially out now. I don't care who you are. Nobody's going to come to the Emirates and pass the ball between their back line without one of our lads snapping at their heels.

Nice to see Reiss Nelson's work rate get paid back in full last night.

Exactly how it used to be. Opposition never got an age on the ball to look naround and pick their ball. Our front 4 were ON THEM, as soon as we lost the ball. This is the high energy and high press I have been yelling we lost for years (and exactly why we lost it). That level of defensive hustle upfront is a game changer.

Had we played with that level of urgency and desire in the centre of the pitch, all season. Then we'd be in 4th/5th now, at least. And that's with the same youngster MFs (minus the lazy one of course) and brain brainfart defenders. For starteres, it causes brainfarts for the other team's defenders, whilst helping to keep the ball away from our defenders. Such an easy thing to change, doesn't need money or brilliance from players. Just good ol' hard work. Yet the potential benefits of doing it are massive.
