Into the final day of the season and relegation and European spots are still up for grabs, but so too is the golden boot.
The contenders:
Jamie Vardy 23 goals
vs Man Utd
Vardy has surprisingly never won the golden boot and it’s looking like that might end this weekend, he has a 2 goal gap over his nearest competitor and is in fine goal scoring form. Although Leicester themselves are in a terrible rut and play host to United who are looking to secure a CL spot ahead of Leicester, so could potentially be starved of service and draw a blank
Danny Ings 21 goals
vs Sheffield United
What a wonderful story it’s been this season for Danny Ings. Did well with Burnley, got his move to Liverpool and just as he looked to be finding his feet he suffered a series of injuries that seemed to almost stop his career. But a move away to Southampton has rebooted his career and he’s playing better than he ever has. Up against a good defensive unit in Sheffield United who have had a great season but the Saints are creating chances so Ings has a good shot at nabbing himself a goal or 2. Will be difficult to bridge the gap to Vardy but he is certainly capable.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 20 goals
vs Watford
You have to wonder just where Arsenal would be without Auba banging then in this season. He’s been a joy to watch and has lead a club in all sorts of dysfunction to a midtable finish. Arsenal looked like they may have turned something of a corner by beating Liverpool and then City to reach the FA cup final in the space of a few days, only to undo all the good with a shock loss to Villa straight after. So on paper a shocking Watford at home who have just sacked their manager should be a gimme and a great chance for Auba to bang in the goals and maybe catch Vardy. However given how inconsistent they have been and that Watford seem to be a bogie team for them i wouldn’t bet on it.
The Wildcards:
Mo Salah 19 goals
vs Newcastle
The 2 time golden boot winner is once more up near the top of the standings this season. Away to Newcastle who will likely try to strangle the game and get a point, whilst Liverpool have been pretty average since winning the title and have nothing really to play for doesn’t seem like the kind of match that would see Mo Salah bag minimum 4 goals. However he is capable of it and loves a goal or two. Doubtful though.
Raheem Sterling 19 goals
vs Norwich
Been absolutely banging them in recent weeks, and at home to possibly the worst defensive team we’ve seen in the past few seasons in Norwich is a great chance for Sterling to rattle them in again. Playing like a man possessed and wants the golden boot badly, genuinely wouldn’t shock me to see a cricket score with sterling scoring 4 or 5.
Vardy will likely win it, although Ings is in with a shot. The others just seem too far back to be able to make the inroads in just the one match. I really do hope Danny Ings can somehow pull it off though, would be a great story.

City will have 5 men in defence protecting Ederson in his quest for Golden Gloves.
The rest of the team will be feeding KdB, who in turn will be trying to set up Sterling.

I forgot that KDB is on for the assist record. Maybe Sterling will win the GB then.

The Sting with Newman and Redford was brilliant - watched it 3 times in as many months.
Dog Day Afternoon
You can see where some of the new films get their ideas from

They should have trademarked the line “is there a problem officers”
Would have made millions off that alone

I think NZ is the only place I’d feel safe going to the movies in at the moment.
Well done to Jacinda.

Only place you can go to the movies really.
Well done to the whole country really, everyone stayed home and took the advice of the medical professionals and now life is back to normal for us mostly.
35k at the rugby on Saturday night for example.
