Can anybody see us making a move for Doucoure now that Watford have gone down?
Before we signed Ndombele, Doucoure was the player I most wanted to see in our endeavor to replace Moussa Dembele. After the season they have had I cannot see him staying with them and he surely would be tempted in joining us.
There's actually a few players I'd take from the relegated clubs. If you offered me Ake, Wilson and Doucoure now I'd consider that a fantastic transfer window.
What do you think?
Doucoure

TBH.....The return of 2 goals and a combined 4 assists from GLC and NDombele having shelled out the best part of 100mln on them is pi55 poor. I'd sell Both (not that I think there would be takers for either) and buy Grealish and Holjberg. If there was a better mkt for Dele than either of those 2 then he could go instead. I think Grealish is far better than all 3 of them

Trouble with Grealish is that even Villa play him from wide. Like Alli, he cannot really be trusted through the middle because the CM has to be hard working. This is where Eriksen did well becase he covered a lot of ground and GLC is the same. More disciplined and hard working than the likes of Grealish so can play CM. Grealish would have to really step it up in that area and who know whether he can. + as a player who is the main man at an EPL club after a decent season, expect him to be valued at £60m.

I like Doucoure, think he'd be a really strong addition and from what I have seen a more talented player than Holjberg
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Holjberg looks like a thug... maybe thats what we need If we are gonna keep NDombele and actually play him, maybe he's the guy to play alongside him to do all the physical stuff he cant..... Who knows. I cant help thinking that Selling NDombele will end up being the way to finance much of what Jose wants.
Good player or not, I just cant see him getting a game under Jose and like him or not Levy is gonna give him the season to justify the hype

I've always been fairly impressed with Doucoure whenever I've watched Watford. Struck me as a having the physical attributes of Sissoko but can actually play a bit (NDombele-esque).....At least with the benefit of actually being able to play in the Prem. Perhaps sell NDombele, sign Doucoure & Holjberg & do something about the FBs and a back up striker.
Interested to hear from anyone who's seen him more than me

If Ndombele is not going to get a game then this would be a decent solution.
To be honest, you could probably get him sold for 60m and sign Holberg and Ducoure for about 35m given the situations of contracts and clubs.
A midfield of Holberg, Ducoure, Alli, LoCelso, Sissoko and Winks to choose from is pretty decent if you ask me.

Surely you can see the value of having Sissoko as a midfield option?

No but I can see Levy using Spurs (phony) interest in Doucoure to drive an even harder bargain for Hojbjerg.

We need a defensive, holding midfielder, not another box to box player

There's an argument for Højbjerg being a box to box midfielder. Interesting to see how/if our midfield improves with him in it

Hojbjerg is more of a holding player than Doucoure at least. His main strength is his tackling/intercepting
Doucoure has been playing behind the striker for half the season
