FFS, you can name 9 subs this season and use 5 in the Scottish Premiership...

Half the teams will struggle to name seven subs and they'll all be kids.

This just gives further advantages to the top two clubs in the league I'm afraid to say. I also wonder what it'll do for the chances of some young players on the fringes who might be better served by being loaned out at these clubs.

I agree that the advantage will go to the teams with the bigger squads, but it might force clubs to bring in and play youngsters. It could go either way for their development.

It’s defo helpful to the teams that are in Europe. More games in a condensed period means they can change their players about. Is it still the case though that you only have 3 attempts to use your 5 subs, so similar to just now albeit you have 2 extra players you can bring on?

Use of up to five substitutes in Scottish Premiership matches for the 2020/21 season has been approved by Premiership clubs.

Lenny will need to have his wits about him to crowbar 5 subs into the last 10-15 mins of games.

I'm in favour TBH. In fact, think it would help if it became permanent. We have a massive squad, with guys who barely kick a baw. This gives us a chance to get more players involved, and should undoubtedly help with injuries/burn out ... if used correctly. Also gives more opportunities to give youth a chance, as has been suggested.

I think everyone bar the big two are going to be relying on kids regardless this season. It just means that we'll have two more 16 year olds on the bench who won't make it onto the park.

Typical scottish football not understanding why the 5 subs rule was brought in. It was only brought in to play football in the summer and due to the lack of training.

It`s expected that some clubs will have over 40 games to play before Christmas. Sounds to me like a sensible decision for once.

I was against it but the fixture schedule up until January is mental. Plus, there’s no winter break this year.

Agree with Ivan though, obviously the top 3 or 4 clubs in the country will benefit most.
