Jackson Carlaw

Suddenly, unexpectedly resigns as Scottish Tory Leader.

I wonder what he's or who he's done....

Or maybe he just doesn't want to be head Tory when Scotland gets it's independence.

Surely a bigger deal assuming Ross gets the job is that he resigned office over Cummings just a couple of months ago yet looks likely to discard all his morals and take office again and presumably carry out orders from #10?

Weasels the lot of them.

Carlaw was sacked, that's why Gove was up here.

When Douglas Ross is the best you have to offer as a replacement you may as well not bother. Although not a hard job for him when Sturgeon is stuck between a rock and a hard place with no serious intention to push for independence shown in a long time now.

The only problems the SNP have are internal.

The vote last night to try to put roadblocks on Cherry's attempts to stand as a MSP was very poor imo. A clear attempt from the hierarchy to stop her getting her mitts on Sturgeon's job when she decides to move on.

I would have to disagree in the strongest possible terms. The number 1 problem for the SNP is not internal, it's getting permission from Unionists to hold a referendum the Unionists are positioned to lose.

Like Turkeys voting for Christmas, it won't happen.

Also Cherry is a boot.

One of my close mates is right at the centre of the party and he's said for years now that she's a troublemaker.

Troublemaker or someone with a different vision?

She's the one who is going to be more aggressively pursuing independence and finding the mechanisms for delivering it, which makes her an attractive proposition for many in the party.

And I would suggest many in the SNP are quite content with holding what power they have at the moment and increasing it little by little, so actually the problem with not getting to hold the referendum may not be as pressing for them as you make out.

Douglas Ross standing. He'll seek a seat at Holyrood next year. Davidson to do FMQs in the meantime....

Predictable. Davidson can get daftied by wee Nic without consequence.
Its the Tories lurching to the right in Scotland in an attempt to pander to the nutters .

Assume he'll stop being a linesman now.
