Telles to replace Shaw?

Quite a few of our fans still think that we need a LB. With AWB being more defensive than attacking, anyone coming in would ideally offer a threat going forwards.

MEN haver posted an article on how Telles would be a good signing. He's 27,only has a year on his deal and would have Bruno to help him settle in. Stats going forwards are impressive, albeit in an inferior league:

Porto defender Alex Telles has established himself as one of the best attacking full-backs in the country after joining the club from Inter Milan in 2016. During his first season with the Portuguese giants, Telles registered eight assists from defence. Just one year later, he almost doubled his assist tally, scoring three and creating 14 goals for his teammates.

The 2018/19 season was a difficult year for the 27-year-old but he still managed to find the back of the net four times and picked up eight assists from left-back.

In the campaign just gone, Telles has been back to his brilliant best, remarkably netting 11 goals and registering eight assists in just 30 league appearances as Porto secured the league crown.

Not only does Telles excel going forward, he has proven to be a reliable defender too. The Brazilian has averaged more tackles, interceptions and aerial duels won per 90 minutes than Shaw this season.

Not going to pretend that I've seen much of the lad. Would he be a good option?

Not expecting some dirty trickery from the gop to swing it back around?

..........

I am sure there will be. But the general mood is people have now cottoned on to this idiot and don't want four more years of it.

What's the feelings around Biden

I haven't delved to much into him but my first impressions are surely the Democrats could have come up with someone better

I think people feel safer with Biden because he isn’t a lunatic.

From what I see, Biden isn't perceived as a terribly flawed candidate the way Hilary was. His demeanour is moderate and empathetic, which plays well when many are exhausted with Trump antics and narcissism. It's hard to portray him as a radical leftie. At the same time, the Bernie supporters are much more behind him than they were Clinton (not least because they're desperate to get rid of Trump). And since bigotry and double standards do have a subconscious impact on perceptions, as a white male he 'looks presidential' to most swing voters.

I mean, you’d have thought that lunacy would actually be a disqualifying trait.

But apparently not in America

There will undoubtedly be attempts to steal the election, in addition to the voter suppression through legal mechanisms that usually goes on. My main fear here is around postal voting and the fact that Trump has just appointed an ally to head the USPS.

It isn’t going to help him this time round.

He is behind Biden in some republican States, let alone all of the swing states bar Ohio. And he is falling badly there as well.

He will literally have to hold onto every State he won in the last election. At the moment he is way behind in Pennsylvania and Florida. He can’t afford to lose either.

There is potential for him to lose the red states of N Carolina, Georgia and Texas, let alone those like Louisiana, Mississippi and Missouri that have been badly affected by job losses and Covid

Hope you are right VC, I suspect some skulduggery time unfold, he won’t give it up easily.

A small part of me (for comedy value) would like to see him get another four years but, if as expected he doesn't get a second term, the fallout will be hilarious too.

I believe it's a badge of shame being a one-term president so he's going to come out with all sorts of excuses and conspiracy theories if he loses I'm sure. I've even read he may pull out citing health issues or the like so that he doesn't have to face defeat. I see that as unlikely though.

Diafol- the fallout will be the best thing ever to happen in politics, the meltdown might be beyond epic please, please, please happen
