Kane or Sancho

I’ve seen Kane beat a few people and put it top corner a fair few time’s tbf

Doesn’t seem to do it as often as he used to. He’s never been as good as Martial at running with the ball. But that doesn’t matter too much as he’s got so many other attributes you’d want in a striker.

True, it was just Elvis asked when Kane has done something I’ve seen him do 5+ times

But beyond the goals, Kane also has more to his game as a striker. Martial needs to do a lot of improving to reach his level.

Kane is a top top player. No doubting that. And he can do things that Martial can't. But Martial can also do things that Kane can't. How often do you seen Kane beat a couple of players and curl one into the far corner?

Martial’s a better dribbler no doubt. But that’s basically it.

It's not though is it? He's faster, I'd say he is more creative. I also think that he is more adept at the quick one-two/link up play in and around the edge of the box that we have started to see since Bruno arrived.

I am not slating Kane in any way. He is a terrific player. But I think that Martial is now reaching his level. They are just different kinds of forwards.

I didn't say when, I said how often. Martial terrorises defences with his pace and dribbling and quick interplay in the final third. Whilst Kane is no doubt technically gifted, he is more likely to score his goals from getting on the end of crosses/balls.

I took him being faster as a given. His link up play, passing and hold up play isn’t as good as Kane’s. Martial’s still some way off his level as a striker.

Nor is his movement and ability in the air. Something he’s improving at but Kane is one of the very best in the world at.

I'll give you passing and hold up play. I disagree about link-up play, where I think Martial excels. It is great to see him playing a more fluid game now that we actually have some creativity in midfield and with Greenwood coming into the team.

I don’t think we see enough of it. But it’s getting better, particularly with Rashford. Still think Kane’s better in this regard.

I think a barometer for Martial’s improvements as a cf next year will be whether Dechamps gives him the nod over Giroud for France. Giroud’s not particularly good, and Dechamps does love a donkey target man, but if Martial’s cf play is at the top level - like Kane’s - he’ll make Giroud expendable.

Good motivation for Martial for the coming season. He didn’t make the world cup squad and has a lot to prove for France.

Yes, he will certainly be looking to get back into the international team next year.
