John Hume - history will judge him as one of the greatest Irishmen. When others were engaged in violence or promoting it through words & deeds, he was steadfast in following a peaceful path. He took the chances he had to to create a situation for peace while others sniped and threatened him from the shadows. Ironic that the cowards on both sides ended up in power.
