Arteta And The Board/AMN

So the manager wants to keep the player and the board basically says stuff your plans we're selling him. Personally I don't really get how Arteta has ended up in this situation because I'd have thought the first thing any manager worth his salt gets himself. Is a contract stipulation which states he has final say over something like this.

If the AMN story is to be believed, Arteta wasn't shrewd enough to do that, so is now about to lose a player he wishes to keep. Just wondering what you guys would do now in his shoes. It's a clear cut "Feck you, you don't make the decisions about your team, we do." moment. So you now know, your say doesn't mean a damn thing. I'd walkout if they pushed the issue (which is why I'd get that contract stipulation).

How about you guys, would you walk or stay on? After clearly being shown/told this early into the job, that you're little more than a board puppet who's going to do as he's told.

Maybe its Arteta says he wants ot keep AMN and buy Partey. The board have identified AMN as a player that can be sold to fund buying Partey. Or maybe its to fund Ceballos who's contract has not been completed yet.

At the end of the day with the players rumoured to leave or pushed to the sidelines (Ozil we could end up with only Xhaka, Saka and Willock as CM's next season.

The Willian deal has nothing to do with AMN. That deal is done regardless of AMN staying or going.

We are open to selling AMN to further our transfers beyond Willian, Ceba and Gabriel and to secure Partey.

We have Guendouzi, whose value is harnessed by the fact we want rid and we will be lucky to get what he should be worth to us. We have Torreira who will only attract around £25m. If we add AMN for the rumoured £30m we have £75m-£90m on top of our budget.

The rest of the players we are hoping to get rid of will barely get us double figures between them if we were even able to get rid.

Still missing the whole "weakening one are to strengthen another," thing I'm talking about I see. I see it more like Wonky. Arteta wants to keep AMN and buy Partey and he's being told no because ke won't invest his money to move this team forward long term.

If we sell AMN to buy Partey or any MF it's weakening defence to improve MF. None of the other top teams would pull this crap. Just ou tight owner and board. The others would all keep the strong player and cough up the cash to buy.

People say they want things at the club to change but the critical thing isn't. The owner still doesn't want to pay for the best players in their prime. So every manager/coach has one armed constantly tied behind his back. This is just rinse and repeat. Couple of season and we'll be in this same boat again with the squad only we'll need strikers and MFs.

Because it is not a thing. AMN is a midfielder who fills in at full back - and does a decent job at wing back but Arteta sees 4 at the back as the way forward by all accounts.

The owner is not in control of who we buy. If the people in charge want to spend all our money on the "best players" then they can. Just like Liverpool.

And, as Wonky points out, midfield is the key strengthening area. We have full backs and players who can fill in at full back.

If AMN is the player identified as being a makeweight in bringing in the players to the club we need then so be it.

I can't believe you look at this squad and the transfers we've brought in the last 5 years and actually be gullible enough to believe it's the results gleaned by a transfer team free to buy all the best players. The best players of the past ten windows (under 27) have all gone to other teams ya numpty.

OF COURSE THE OWNER IS IN CHARGE! ke didn't get as filthy rich as he is by giving other people unfettered control over his businesses money. He's made a tonne fleecing his US teams long before he started it with Arsenal. Wake up and smell the coffee. The more fans buy into this crap, the longer it'll keep going on for. Arteta is in the process of being set up to fail. Because when push comes to shove, it's big money that's needed. In transfer fees, not geriatric wages. And like Wenger and Emery before him, Arteta won't get it. Instead he will get told "Feck off, sell players." AMN suggests he already is.

Oh really?

So ke is negotiating Willian's contract. Not Edu, Arteta nor any of the transfer team employed to do that sort of thing? See now that's funny because I swear that you've been adamant for months that ke has absolutely nothing to do with transfers. You said he just tells the team they're free to spend as much as they want, buy anyone they want and then leaves them to it.

So what the feck is HE doing discussing in and outs with Willian then? If he's negotiating player contracts himself, then you can be damn sure he's in total control of who we do or do not buy and whether or not we'll pay the fee to get them. He's up to his bloody neck in our transfer deals DJ. Him micro managing the Willian deal, I'd say is a pretty good indicator that it's ALWAYS been him behind each of the crapass, bargain basement deals we have pursued the last 10 years.

Hence the state of the squad. Ultimately it has been decided on and built, by a micromanaging yank businessman who doesn't know a damn thing about English football. Let alone how you build.run a team in it. Yet he constantly meddles/had meddled in those team affairs.

No DJ, you're to blind to see what has been happening at this club for years now. you refuse to recognise and accept that does not allow big money, player in prime, transfers. He will only pay for established veterans or unknown youngsters. That is why we have lost out to Chelsea/City?Man U on every star going. Also why we have so many poor players in the squad. If he'd to cough up 50-100 mil for a fee plus wages, then we'd have a squad that was actually worth some money to sell off.

As it is, his first and only expensive youngster is Pepe. In 10 bloody years, he's the only player we've bought high, so actually going to be worth a good price, when he reaches the end of his contract. Everyone else has been old/high wage or just cheap!
