Bale as Sancho alternative?

All has gone quiet surrounding Jadon Sancho and with Bale surplus to requirements at Real, would you want him at United if it was on the cheap?
He still has something to offer doesn't he.

Just a thought

I'd be massively let down if I thought we were going for Sancho and then went for Bale. 10 years difference between the two and Sancho looks like he'll be one of the world's best players during the time he reaches Bale's age.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It doesn’t look like that at all. Far too soon to be saying things like that. he’s yet to play a minute of prem footy, whereas bale career is far, far superior right now. Sancho will have done exceptionally well to win as much as bale has..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are better players than Bale who haven't had as good a career. I wasn't saying that about Sancho. But I do believe he'll go on to be one of the top performers in football for the foreseeable future, whereas Bale is in retirement mode now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Perhaps he will, but people are going way Orr on this guy, the fact is he hasn’t done anything really yet otherwise than post impressive numbers in a team perfectly set up for him to get those numbers.

Time will tell.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Even if you think he's overrated, you've got to admit that he must be a bit special to be doing what he's doing, breaking records at his age in the Bundesliga and posting high assist stats.

He has 2 goals for England in 11 games, Sterling had 2 goals in over 35 games. For me it's obvious that he's going to be at least as good as Sterling is, if he isn't already.

As good as Bale has been as a player, his CV is better than his general play has been throughout his career. He has not been the most consistently good player by a long way, living off many moments instead of sustained quality.

I don’t think he’s overrated as such, but I do think a lot of people are going way ott over him. He’s really not done much at all yet.

I wouldn't say anyone has overrated him too much from what I've seen. I haven't seen anyone say he's going to be as good as Messi or anything like that. It's mostly that he's going to be world class, which is fair enough.

I have only seen him in a handful of games and I must have caught all his bad or underwhelming ones.

But if he had a point to prove he’d get on with it and perform on the pitch. But he doesn’t as he’s past it and has no motivation for football. He quite literally prefers playing golf now.

He has nothing to prove at Madrid I’m sure if you stick him in a Wales shirt, or somebody competing in the PL he’d change his mind.

Why would he? He either has something to prove or he doesn’t. Moving to China for a fat contract, then sitting on one at Madrid when it falls through, doesn’t strike me as someone that has something to prove by coming back to the premier league.

Do you think any team should take a chance on someone who's so unprofessional that he picks and chooses even he tries? He has a great trophy cabinet but what should have been the peak years of his career have been wasted, and he's been happily complicit in that

I think his family are happy and he’s bringing in generational wealth.

I don’t think many people would take a 50% pay cut, or more, in any walk of life.

Right, so you don't think we should sign him then. Good

And that’s because he has no point to prove and doesn’t care about football.

Look at Alexis Sanchez as an example. He obviously has something to prove and wants to play football which is why he’s moved away and looks to be getting his career back on track.

Bale will not do this. So the idea he’ll come to the prem with a point to prove and be an asset to any team is a fantasy.
