Job done efficiently - 3 goals, clean sheet, Morelos double and an assist. Maximum points and no goals conceded after first 2 matches.

I’ve not seen anything yet that tell me we are better than last year

Long season and the traits of not getting games won while dominating are still there

A tepid Aberdeen and a frustrating St M really should be won more convincingly

Morelos bailed us out today
Not that we ever looked like dropping points but 1-0 is not always going to be enough

It just takes one slip and a draw can be grasped from victory

Whilst I still think we can do better I genuinely feel we are in better shape than the start of last season.

The only question mark over Barisic is whether we can keep him.

Kent is in the team from the off and is looking settled and up for it.

Aribo has a season under his belt and looks like he will kick on.

We have two new attackers in who add to our options and cushion the blow when Morelos goes.

The defence as a whole looks solid.

It was 3-0 going on 5 or 6 today. Alnwick was terrific for them and kept the score down.

Of course we will get bit on the erchie in some games like that this season but I didn’t think we were ever in any real danger of dropping points today.

I’m quite happy with what we have as a team and squad for the season. My main concern is CM. I’ve said before I don’t think Jack and Kamara have enough in their game and I’d like to see us sign a quality CM who can dictate games.

I realise we might have blown any budget we had but fingers crossed.

McLaughlin looks like a very good keeper and will give Mcgregor good competition. Looks like we’ve got two good players for each defensive position. Balogun looks great.

Everywhere else on the park looks like we have good options.

I think just one quality addition in CM and we’re looking very good.

I'm just delighted that we are splitting the leagues pace setters in Hibs and Ross County

Agreed, we need more variation and need to be more clinical in finishing.

The difference between last year though Is that I think our defence is looking stronger and I am hoping the 2 x new strikers will fit into our system better and give us more striking options for when Morelos has an off day. (Maybe he will be permanently offski).

We need Defoe to stop picking up injuries. He is a more clinical finisher. Shame he is not 10 years younger 😄

I agree rats. Kamara and Jack are decent spfl players despite all the fanciful talk and Juve, etc.
Theyre not good enough over the season and it should have been the priority for Gerrard.
If you can get a top creative midfielder who can regulatly find the killer pass, even on loan, i'd be a lot less confident that Celtic will win the league.

Gerrard has clearly stated his signing priority is another centre midfielder.

Davis is approaching 36 and will be used sparingly.

Jack and Kamara are the main two in there. And whilst they have shown they are more than good enough they do need another option.

Arfield can help out in there I suppose but he is better pushing forward IMO.
