Hard-pressed to justice offering...

Willian a one-year contract, let alone the THREE + ONE year option that Arsenal have cajoled him with.

Didn't warrant 2-year deal either (club have been incredibly lenient). Perhaps the motive behind that was to get a transfer fee from his sale (a la Luiz).

Down to me would have just released him without any contract offer, in-spite of having had his best season to date. Run his course at the club.

Departure will be a blessing in disguise, Frankly.
Can no longer block players that provide significantly better (direct) cutting-edge/productivity in attacking third and huge wage bill removed, which in the grande scheme of things is best for all parties.

One year more would have been perfect, but I was surprised we offered him 2 years and even more surprised he said no. Vital player for us this season so someone will need to step up.

On his day,a joy to watch, but those days only seemed to arrive at certain times the past couple of years. Best of luck to him for the future, only hope he's not successful at Arsenal though .

Yeah very surprised he turned down two, Arsenal will regret giving him three.

Good luck to Willian (apart from when playing against Chelsea), he’s been great this season, loyal servant (7 years at the club) whilst the club winning trophies. Would’ve loved him staying for another two years, but I don’t begrudge him for leaving Chelsea, he’s got to look after himself and family.
