Chelsea's past it players

I don't see what the point here is of buying players from Chelsea who are well past their prime? Other than free option, it doesn't add any benefit to our squad. Cech was a downgrade of Shesney, and we ended up with EL whilst he was there. Luiz has got us falling form 5th to 8th. What good will Willian bring? I assume he's there to replace AMN, when he eventually leaves, but hardly an upgrade.

Giroud has won the Europa League too. Thought I get why you'd want to forget that

Luiz has been OK overall, but it's a stretch to call him a 'success'.

Cech wasn't great. Gallas wasn't either. Benayoun did a job for a season, but was never long term.

Both Cole and Fabregas won the 'big' trophies and were key parts of Chelsea's success.

Samir different eras. Not really fair to compare the past. Not very relevant to whether Willian will be a success.

But seriously where would be without Luiz? Mari, Mustafi and Chambers serious injuries at crucial times. Sok check out and Holding wobbling after injury. Would we have won the FA Cup? Don't think so. Arguably Luiz best two performances were against City and Chelsea. And what would our finances be like without European football with no match day income?

Remember when Liverpool signed James Milner and we laughed at what a s*** signing it was. At the time Liverpool were a europa league club with a pretty s*** squad

He played a part in getting them into the top 4 and they've built from that. He's still the with another PL medal and a CL medal in his locker.

It's not, but when you look at our track record, and Willian's age, it doesn't fill you with heaps of confidence that it'll work out.

Luiz performed well in many big games and was crucial to our post-lockdown form after the Man City debacle. But he has conceded the most penalties in a season by a single player, he has also been rash and put in some stinkers. Which is why I'm saying it's a stretch to say he's been a success.

He's no doubt a popular figure in the dressing room, displayed leadership qualities and helped the younger players integrate into the first team - all of which shouldn't be understated - but based on his entire season with us from what he's done on the pitch, it's hard to give him more than a 6.5/10 overall.

Dubbed, Milner being a great signing for Liverpool doesn't mean Willian will be for us. One thing that everyone knows Milner will guarantee is work-rate every single game. Willian isn't that reliable.

Arteta really wants Wiliian. Samir. I think he knows what he is doing. Got to give him the benefit of the doubt. Arteta was the one who pushed for Luiz to get a new contract when Edu/Raul had doubts. He's just won a trophy after 6 months into the job. tbh I have to believe he has a plan and understands the team/squad/dressing room dynamics more than us.

Willian would be a great signing, all we have to do to get top 4 is stop dropping points against teams like villa, Brighton, Bournemouth. He can help that
