Really wish the club would stop this.

Jack's back and we all know he is as Leeds as it's possible to be. He will develop into a top professional of which I have no doubt but I don't like the way we're messing him around.
If he's good enough to sign in a years time then sign him now and show we have faith in him.

I'd think if it goes to court it'll deem the season ended with Promotion and it wasn't JKA's or Leipzig's fault that the season was extended!..

Was permission not given to extend loan players deals till the end of the extended season, because this is basically the same!..

It depends on the wording. Lawyers will pull it to bits if it says promotion by June 2020.

If so it will probably be settled out of court.

Stoopo, if that's the argument then the opposition can say that loan signings were given the go ahead to end the season!..

Plans were being put in place to use Augustin in the run in but he got injured before being used!..

So, I think it will be a long running thing where one side will feel hard done by, but I think the one that should feel hard done by is Augustin, no matter which way it goes!..

Surely JKA's contribution to the promotion campaign will weigh very heavily against Leipzig's case? Why MUST we buy if he hasn't contributed?

Contracts consist of both express and IMPLIED terms. One implied term of Augustin's contract must be that he contributes to the goal of promotion. He didn't fulfill that implied term.

Leipzig are trying to pull a fast one here in my view but I agree with Stoopo that it will be settled out of court and we will probably need to pay compensation and that's really what they are after.

Augustin's loan wasn't extended though and ended on the 30th June.

I'd be very surprised if a specific date in a written contract is deemed to be movable by a court.

It would open the floodgates for other contractual dates to be ignored.

Extensions were not automatic, Charlton lost a few who refused to extend after lockdown break, for example.

Hey up all, I know his deal ended 30th June, but plans were being made for him to play the run in games, meaning Leeds were ready to take him over that deadline!..

"Extensions were not automatic, Charlton lost a few who refused to extend after lockdown break, for example."

Jonny, like I said, were planning on using him, players that Charlton,(and maybe a few others!)lost were because their contracts ended and they chose not to play on!..

I'm only saying, with Leeds planning on using him Leipzig have a good case because he was injured when?.....I think the day before the run in started, maybe 2 days, they'll say he was injured while training for the run in that he was supposed to be involved in!..

Hopefully whatever happens, it doesn't hurt Leeds to much, but at the same time, whatever happens the player is treated with respect wherever he ends up, it cant be to good knowing that you'll have to report to a club that might not want you!..

I think we 'll end up settling with them for a very sizable figure.

There have been cases similar where you can end up paying out much more through legal fees etc.we are going to take a big hit on this I feel.
