Spurs will always have to either buy potential or buy players just under the top bracket like Højbjerg.

We just aren’t a big enough club who can attract the already top players

I don’t think it’s about being a big enough club mate, it’s about the owners and their intent on spending the money needed. Mancity are a tin pot club mate before their owners took over and were buying players like Robinho etc, who was back then known as a top player
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well yeah the go around for not being big enough is to throw huge money at it but I don’t think even with new owners any club will throw around as much as city did early on.

Really like the Hojbjerg signing.... Looks like a nasty piece of work with a great attitude.... Exactly what we need. His interview with Spurs TV was very impressive.

We all know we still need a RB and another striker but this signing makes sense on so many levels. Spurs have fallen so far Since Dembele left as Winks and Sissoko are simply not good enough. Neither them have the defensive discipline to properly shield the back 4 and because of this our midfield is always dominated causing our more attacking players to play deeper meaning we are less of a threat going forwards.

If this signing doesn't allow the Likes of Dele, NDombele and GLC to justify all the hype then nothing will

Well played Levy/ Jose...... Credit where its due..... For once a really smart signing !

I agree Don, Man City are still a tin pot club, they just have more money than everybody else. Without the money, they would be probably back in the championship. Amusingly their modern day fans think they have actually earnt all their recent success.

Let`s be fair the only way to get the really top class players is just to throw money at them. Look at players like Bale, sulking, even though he is on 400 grand a week. Modern players do my head in. Have they no pride, don`t they really want to just play football? How much money do these players really need?

Worth noting Pep really rated him at Bayern when he will still very young.... Thought he could be the new Busquets..... who knows whether that's possible but can't help thinking he has the talent and attitude to improve further by playing with better players and at a higher level

By big money signings I mean anything over £30m which is big for us. Not for the richer teams. Agree with your comment about not signing big players. I can't even remember the last time we signed a top player. Rafa maybe? Jeez.

Yep, VDV was our last top class signing. Modric, Bale etc went onto become world class with us and after, but in terms of buying a real top class player at their peak, then VDV Is our last player which is poor really.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You could argue Adebayor was a fairly big name when we got him from City, even though we all hated him in the end and couldn't wait to get rid of him.

Dybala would have been a very big name signing. I knew it would have been too good to be true for Spurs to land him.
